The hotels first impressions were good.all ground floor bar, restaurant and lounge were all nicely decorated. Unfortunately that ended with our room. First of all we had problems with our key .granted that might have been us but even one of the staff said there was a problem so who knows When we went down for dinner we went to three different tables and was told we couldn’t sit there because it was set for breakfast. As we were in a coach party we would have liked to sit with other diners but no, we were sent to a table on our own. There was no kettle in the room or tea and coffee.one of the guests told us we should ask for one ,which we did. When plugged in, it wouldn’t work and the room lights flashed every time we tried to push it in.Girl in reception came up to see and she then sent the cleaner to bring us another. She couldn’t get it to come on so went for another kettle. The third kettle did flash on briefly but after she had gone we tried but the only way we could get it to work was by holding the plug in to the socket till it boiled 😳also the lights in the room were flashing if we released our grip. We were told it was our travel plugs but the kettle was theirs so how they came to that conclusion I really don’t know. We asked for cups for our hot drinks and we’re given cardboard flimsy cups . We had to ask at the bar because the waitress in the restaurant wouldn’t give us pot ones. The food was disgusting most nights and lots of guests including myself couldn’t eat it . The waitress who served us ,who was English so no language barrier, banged our plates down in front of us every night. My friend doesn’t eat cheese and she told them this so was asked if she would like spag Bol, which she agreed to. When it arrived there was hardly any meat and the sauce was watered down. It looked disgusting and she couldn’t eat it. The last night we were there , there was a full on argument with the waitress and customers in the restaurant because so many of us sent the food back. My views on this hotel are, it’s the worst hotel for customer service. The hot food which is advertised on the website was non existent and one of the cakes they put out were there 3days on the trot. On one occasion I ordered a glass of water but was brought a large bottle and charged 2 euros for.I didn’t say anything, which with hindsight I should have but I dont like to complain.I left just over half of it and the next morning there it was next to the orange juice for customers breakfast. I wouldn’t recommend any one to stay there because as well as the food we were worried about the electric plugs.

Just returned from a three night trip, this hotel was amazing and what we wanted, it’s in the centre not far from the cable car and close to the train station we visited Luca and Florence during our stay, the staff are what make this hotel so very friendly and helpful nothing is too much trouble. Ricardo took time each day to advise on times of trains restaurant choices and guided us on what todo with our short stay. Gabriele was amazing too very helpful and arranged our shuttle transfer prior our arrival, the room attendant was also lovely and attended the room always leaving lots of clean towels and the room very clean this hotel made our stay, thank you Ricardo for all your help and We would definitely return

What a lovely hotel, we stayed here for a week and from the moment of arrival the staff were really pleasant, nothing was too much trouble. The room was very clean as throughout the whole hotel and the small honesty bar allowing us to take a bottle of wine or beer outside or to the room was a lovely touch. Breakfast was nice and once outside the hotel montecatini is a very relaxing place to stay with great transport links to florence and lucca as well as the very slow pace of life in the town itself. Though only a relatively small town there is plenty to do with plenty of good restaurants at reasonable prices, natural spas and a funicular railway that takes you up to a part of the town up on a small mountain with great views. Should we come to tuscany again(which is highly likely) we wont be searching for hotels, we will just look for availability here. If we could give it more stars we would!

Very cost-effective, the parking space at the entrance must be left before 8 o'clock in the morning, otherwise you will be fined (the probability is not high). It is recommended to stay overnight. This location is considered the city center.
