We stayed a whole week and would have loved to stay even longer! The facility is well-tended and clean. The breakfast offers a good variety of food-options. Dinner is delicious and the atmosphere is super relaxed, perfect after a long day out. The best part about the hotel is the staff, hands down. They are kind and generous, going above and beyond to ensure that your needs are being fulfilled. The only thing about the hotel that could be improved is the Wifi, as it was a bit slow at times. On top of the hotel itself, the location is beautiful as well. Montecatini Terme has quite a few things to see, such as the terme, the park and the small city, everything easy to reach by foot. Pisa and Florence are about a 50min drive away, ideal for a city-trip during the day.

Solo traveller August 2024 I don’t normally write reviews but I couldn’t possibly not share this experience with others about this utterly romantic, charmful hotel, which was an experience that I’ll hold close to my heart forever. I’ve travelled to many countries on my own and vowed I’d never go back to the same place twice, until now! The hotel itself was beyond what I had expected from my extensive google searches before I went. It’s stunning, every new part I discovered, was another ‘oh wow’ moment! Though it has to be said that it’s the staff that makes this hotel even more special. The cleaners, the waiting staff, the receptionists, Roberto :) (the bar man) and the owner of the hotel all in their own unique way make you feel like you’re an old friend, and not in a ‘it’s our job’ way but in a genuine manner, which is yet another thing that separates this hotel from others. As soon as you walk out of the hotel, your steps away from so many restaurants, cafes, clothes shops, pharmacies, a supermarket ,hairdressers, the train station. The funicular, and pasta/wine making classes were also available literally 10/15 minutes walk away. Two events I would highly recommend. After 2 weeks staying here, I still had so many things I wanted to see, do, so I guess I’ll need to come back :)! The pool was also a very welcomed addition, and yes you did get the few dedicated ‘first thing in the morning, drop our towels on the lounger people’ but very often there was plenty of empty ones too, and that was in 37 degrees weather. Thank you to the receptionist and the very sweet funny waitress (I’m sorry I didn’t get their names) for helping me to zip up my dress, quite a sight the 3 of us in the reception area! Lastly the night before I had to unfortunately leave, I asked Fabio in reception what time I needed to check out, he kindly granted me a late check out without me even asking, whilst putting my mind at ease regarding the numerous questions I had about getting a taxi, do the trains run frequently etc. I was fretting about my departure, but he quickly put my mind at ease. Next day, whilst checking out I was chatting to the owner (again never got her name). This woman looks like she came straight from a movie set, but don’t be put off by her grand demeanour , such a down to earth woman with the most biggest, gentlest smile :) Thank you for our chat and your kind words, a perfect ending to a perfect stay All in all 100 out of 5 stars
Grand Hotel Tamerici & Principe

We were part of a tour and lucky to be allocated a top floor room overlooking trees and a park. We had a balcony with table and chairs that we made use of in the early evening before we went out. Breakfasts were very good. Great location with plenty of places to eat. Downside for us was the road noise. Dreadful with motor bikes and fast cars being driven up and down until the early hours. Although the weather was heating up we couldn't turn the AC on and the hotel didn't have any fans to give us. So the nights were not good.

As you can see from the photos, the exterior of the building and public areas are grand and delightful. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. But for those who want more of the nitty-gritty read on: Room: We were in room 124, which is a standard room near the elevator. Like most European hotels, the room is considerably small. I appreciated the large armoire, night stands, and drawers so that if one wanted, personal items can be stowed out of sight. I found the bed to be very firm, but have a PranaSleep mattress at home, which is super comfy. I read that the rooms were ”recently” renovated, but ours could have definitely used a touch-up. There was a mark that appeared to have been where someone killed (and smudged) a bug on the wall, and several spots where the walls were scuffed and chipped. Cleanliness: The housekeeping did a sufficient job of cleaning the room, and the dining areas were immaculate. What struck me as odd was the beautiful red carpet on the grand staircase was in need of a vacuum during our entire stay. Minute detail, for sure, but one that struck me as odd. Amenities: Here's where I think they could improve. There is not an iron in each room, however, they will bring one upon request. In my case they asked for it back 24 hours later, which was problematic for me, as all of our clothes needed ironing. I requested an iron four more times before I received another one, three days later. Sadly the one I was given was completely broken. (Good news: I learned to get wrinkles out of clothing by dampening the garment and using a hot hair dryer!) The toiletries were paltry and the bar of hand soap was the size and thickness of a quarter. I am imagining this is done for the sake of conservation, but be aware: if you are the ”DO NOT DISTURB” type, you will need to find housekeeping to stock up daily. The towels and bedding were all stain-free and seemed to be of decent quality. Temperature: We are from upstate NY and the room was very hot for us, even with the AC on the lowest temperature. We stayed in October and ended up sleeping with the windows open. Bathroom: The shower is incredibly small! If you drop your soap you would actually need to step out of the shower to pick it up! No joke! The water pressure is incredible, however, and there was always plenty of hot water. WiFi: Nearly non-existent. I have heard that they are planning to upgrade. Otherwise, you need to sit in the lobby or use the laptop they provide in the front area. Typical to Staff: Most of the staff was professional. We had many pleasant exchanges with a young waiter named Federico. The evening/night staff were not as pleasant and almost seemed bothered that they had to interact with patrons. Food: The breakfast was plentiful and consistent: a table full of breakfast pastries, cold cereal, melons, yogurt, scrambled eggs, muffins, bacon, sausage links, several types of cold cuts and cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes. We ate dinner at the hotel three times and so
