Unfortunately underwhelming...
We booked a room with 2 double beds (alternatively 2 single bed) for a higher price because that's what we wanted - when we checked in, we were given a room with 1 double bed. Unfortunately the bed couldn't be spitted and no other room was available (which we highly doubted, as we were one of the early one's checking in that day).
We received a very soft co-sleeper bed...
The first night, we went to bed quite early as we were exhausted from the day. Suddenly, there was banging on the door - up to 10 times - before I was awake enough to open the door to 2 service guys from the hotel, giving me some cut fruits and 4 pralines - at 10:30pm!? I was totally confused by the time and behaviour...
Also the personnel wasn't of great help when asked regarding directions, post office, or else...
We just didn't like the experience we had in this hotel.

The room is not soundproof, you can hear the fart next door. In addition, there are singers singing in the lobby every night. The sound is so loud and noisy until after 11 o'clock. They don't stop and you can't rest at all.
When cleaning the room, either bath towels or toothbrushes are not given. I think it is intentional, hoping that the guests will call someone to deliver them so that they can collect tips. This is also a common problem in Lanka hotels.
The hotel is a bit old, but there are no tissues or slippers in the room. What's going on?

ПЛЮСЫ ОТЕЛЯ: Расположение прямо на берегу океана, наличие рядом с отелем рифа, который позволяет купаться в спокойной воде без волн. Есть школа серфинга рядом с отелям, инструкторы стараются говорить по русский. Большая зеленая ухоженная территория. У нас был просторный номер, хорошая кровать, белье. Кондиционер старый, но работал, сейф тоже. Из номера - выход на террасу со столиком и креслами и через 30 шагов - океан! Прекрасный песок на пляже. На территории отеля всегда находился шезлонг, матрас и пляжное полотенце. Особенно порадовало наличие привычной еды для европейцев.Прекрасный цейлонский чай. По вечерам каждый день или живая музыка или шри-ланкийский танцы. МИНУСЫ ОТЕЛЯ: Фен в номере плохо работает, брала свой. Каждое утро просыпалась в сыпи, зудился ужасно! (в самолете выяснила у всех туристов такая проблема не зависимо от отеля). Обратилась русскоговорящему сотруднику Анушка(фото прилагается). Поменяли матрасы, обработали, постельное белье меняли каждый день. И все ОК!

The Palms is well located with direct beach access.It is a stunning hotel with a heated pool and great live evening entertainment .The PRO ,Madushanki,went the extra mile to ensure we were well taken care of.The head chef ,Pradeep,ensured we had a good variety of veg options for Lunch and dinner.Hope that the management team has a maintenance plan to preserve this wonderfull property.

Excellent hotel. The property is beautifull offering stunning views and excellent amenities. What made our stay even more special was the exceptional service from the staff. Especially GROSIR. Ms. Madushanki. From the moment we arrived madushanki went above and beyound to ensure. We felt welcome and comfortable. She was avaible to assit with any request, offering thoughtful recommendations and lersonalized service throughout our stay. Room experience also good. Clean and tiddy. Thank you
