Headwaters Lodge & Cabins at Flagg Ranch

You can expect what you ll get for vacation motel. Aside from that they have a very good quality restaurant (I mean for middle class restaurant not talking about Michelin star restaurant)

excellent location, clean, plenty space.

The room was great the real negative was the restaurant. We had two dinners there and had to send the food back both times. The restaurant manager was not very apologetic and seemed more upset with us for not accepting our dinners.

I didn’t like all!!! ALL: the cabin, the restaurant, the facilities , the landscape, the maintenance.

Breakfast was great!

We enjoyed our stay at Headwaters Lodge. Wishing to visit Yellowstone Park, even booking a year ahead I found that suitable accommodation within the park was either already taken or too expensive. Although Headwaters Lodge is not cheap we thought our premium cabin was well positioned, quiet, and reasonably equipped. It was warm and comfortable as the cold autumn nights arrived. The accommadation is as described on the website. The coffeemaker was adequately supplied with pods. The service staff were all helpful. The Lodge position is very close to the South entrance to Yellowstone and it is an easy drive to visit Old Faithfull one day and Canyon another. The grocery store is limited, pricey and more expensive than the better store at Coulter Bay. Travelling up from Salt Lake City we were glad we called in at Walmart in Logan to stock up with a few supplies. The restaurant is inadequate as it cannot cope with the numbers who wish to dine. They do have a no booking/ walk up policy, and noone will go hungry but waiting times for seating are 45 minutes to an hour. And you can't always wait with a drink in the bar because that's full too. This needs rectifying and will require a physical expansion to the lodge and the hiring of more staff. When we did get to eat there the food was not bad and not as expensive as others have suggested considering the remote location of the lodge.
