We honeymooned at Eight Bells 40 years ago and we wanted to "re-live" it by going back to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. It was surreal going back as nothing much had changed, it is still "old school" and we LOVED it. Wonderful atmosphere. Gardens are beautiful. Staff helpful and friendly. We were gifted with a free bottle of wine for our anniversary......wow ! thank you! They still ring the bell for teas and meals. Highly recommend staying there.

We stayed at Eight Bells 40 years ago on our honeymoon. To celebrate our 40 years of marriage we wanted to go back where we started. We were hartley welcomed with a complementary bottle of wine. The food and service was excellent. We enjoyed it very much, and we will be back sometime.

Historic hotel stay in beautiful moutain setting Great, historic hotel in a beautiful setting.We had an overnight stay in Palm Court which worked well for our family. Staff were very friendly and attentive. We had drinks in the atmospheric bar and had both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant - good food, good choice and excellent service.

Stayed for 2 nights in the Swiss Village and was very impressed. The views and scenery are fabulous and the grounds are kept immaculate. The staff were all very friendly and the evening meals in the restaurant were excellent - some of the best ostrich I've eaten. We didn't get the opportunity to do the walking trails around the property as the weather wasn't favourable our second day but the property provides trail maps with walks of differing distances and toughness. Highly recommended stay.
