My wife and I stayed here for just one night to take advantage of some free Vline train vouchers, so, as our host told us,, we were not typical of most travellers arriving at the motel by car. We chose this place because the price was reasonable, previous reviews were good and the location was not far from the Vline coach terminal next to the Visitor Information Centre.
Our Queen room was basic but clean, comfortable and well air-conditioned. There were good supplies of cutlery, crockery and snacks, together with a microwave and a toaster. Whilst not serving meals at the motel, our host told us of a cafe nearby. He was charming to chat to and kindly looked after our baggage for us in the free hours between checkout and our coach departure. All up, a very pleasant experience.

Very poor, reception was not very welcoming either
Parking for car was not adequate, people in other units were partying until 5 a.m., so didn’t get much sleep, which was needed before I had a long drive next day. Somebody who manages hotel should have evicted or told them to quieten down, thumping up and down the stairs also.

Quick overnight stay
I visited Mount Gambier to participate in a community event, and stayed overnight at the Grand Central which was conveniently located around the corner.
Check-in was easy. Just had to show photo id to collect my keys. Upon booking I had requested a later stay so I could freshen up after the event, which was remembered and accepted during checkin with no problems.
The downstairs room was quiet and peaceful with all the facilities you expect from a motel. Parking was easy with the building next door providing additional space.
The location is central to the main shopping districts and the Cave Gardens, and a short drive to the other local tourist highlights.

Just Ok for really bottom dollar.
Strange smell and no external windows

Quilt and blanket on the bed were cheap and a bit nasty.

Hairy
So much hair on the bed spread I could have wove it together to give myself and extra blanket.
Apart for the evidence of so many previous visitors, it was a great stay.

Too expensive for what you get
When paying 150 AUD, then I honestly expect better amenities/room.
The place was fine. No problem there. I usually pick budget accommodation and don't care too much. I just think that this place is too expensive compared to what you get.

Nice clean comfortable room. Some minor repairs are required. Needs a new shower head, there was no chain for the lock on the door.
Reception was friendly and helpful.
Overall a good quality lower priced motel, that is in easy walking distance to shopping centre and main street.
