We arrived in Dunhuang at night, and the pick-up service arranged by the hotel was very heartwarming. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable. You can see the beautiful scenery of Mingsha Mountain in the distance outside the window. The front desk service is warm and thoughtful, making you feel like spring breeze. The hotel breakfast is delicious. The restaurant is on the 9th floor and has a large viewing platform where you can enjoy the beautiful Dunhuang. The lobby on the first floor of the hotel also provides yogurt, mineral water and seasonal fruits. The hotel's service details are very attentive. The Dunhuang landmark Rebounding Pipa is right in front of the hotel. It is very close to the Dunhuang Shazhou Night Market. It is only a 5-minute walk away. It is convenient for eating and transportation. You can take the No. 3 bus at the door directly to Mingsha Mountain, and there are direct buses to the Mogao Grottoes. We got free upgrade to the suite so that was nice. Very pretty river view and not as noisy as some of the reviews I've read. Probably because the weather was getting chilly.
Room was very spacious, even for just the size of the bedroom alone. Bed was comfortable and not too soft. But I will say that the light switches in the rooms and also the smart toilet seat were very confusing. Strangely, it had a large bathtub area, but a separate and very squished shower closet. The water didn't quite drain properly also.
Breakfast was okay. But considering how the city really is just a town in the desert, I'd say it's actually pretty good. The local restaurants are also options, but we had to get up super early for day trips, and didn't feel like freezing outside to look for food when it's still dark. Side note, the night market in town is nice but not much going on outside of that area.
The hotel is not in the city centre, but since the city is small, taxi is the way to go. We actually end up just getting the phone number of one of the taxi driver, and called her whenever we planned to head out.
I chose the hotel based on aesthetics and was not disappointed. But our suite was in the end of a very long hallway, so get ready to walk if you are not near the elevator.

A paradise in the desert. I didn't expect that there are modern hotels in the northwest. The hotel is carefully landscaped, with miniature sand hills and Crescent Lake. The cultural experience section is rich and participatory, allowing people to calm down and experience the Dunhuang culture. The housekeeper Youzi provided full service and assistance from check-in to check-out: booking tickets for the Dunhuang show, arranging the time for sightseeing and the shuttle bus between attractions, recommending the extremely reliable Feitian Travel Photography, and chartering a car to Yangguan, Yumenguan, and Yadan. It left me with unforgettable memories! Only a small shortcoming: the hotel's meals are a bit monotonous and the taste needs to be improved.

The night market is not far away, just cross the road and walk 100 or 200 meters to get there. There are not many varieties of breakfast, but you can eat enough. We have always been looking forward to the starry sky in the northwest, so we found this starry sky-themed B&B and communicated with it first. The store owner is very good at taking starry sky photos. Sure enough, We were not disappointed. The B&B is located at the foot of Mingsha Mountain. There is very little light pollution and the starry sky photos taken are very beautiful.
The room facilities are also very complete. The air conditioner was turned on half an hour in advance. It was already very cool when we checked in in the afternoon. I would like to give a thumbs up to the housekeeper on the day of check-in. GGuest UserWe booked a tent for three people per room. After dinner in the evening, we brought some snacks and fruits to enjoy the breeze and eat. It felt good. I brought a kettle and a small basin and did a simple scrubbing. Fortunately, although the northwest is hot, it cools down as soon as the sun goes down. My body is very dry and not sticky, and I can wipe it off overnight. It was cloudy on our second day and it was very cool in the tent. You must wear a coat outdoors.
