Fairfield Inn & Suites Salt Lake City South

I made reservations for may-11th-24 and it said check in is at 3pm. It was 1pm, so I needed a rm ASAP,so I went to the hotel to see if I could get checked in early. When I arrived at the place it looked like it was going through renovations. There was plastic on the windows and the front was currently getting fixed. I walked and asked the front self lady if I could check in early and she said no that I can't be checked in until 6pm😳. I said when it was check in time and she said 3pm but their system is down. She said all the phones and wifi and the computers are not working at all and there is a tech trying to fix it and it has been down all day. I asked her will can you still check me in even if everything is down?. She said no she cannot do anything because the system is down. So I asked her,Will there is a fairland hotel down the street from my house, do you think you can transfer my reservation there since I can't check in, and she said no I can't. The only thing I can do is you go there make a new reservation and when my system comes back up I can cancel the reservation. I said ok and went to the next hotel, I went on trip.com and just requested cancellation just in case. I got an email back saying it was successfully cancelled. The next day I got an email saying that they tried to cancel it but they couldn't cancel it. I called them and they said that the front desk guy said they never offered to go to another hotel and make a new reservation there and they could have checked me in and my reservation can't be cancelled. I explained why I couldn't check in and why I went to the other hotel. So trip.com contacted them and explained my situation. Then they told him that even though the system was down they can still check me in. I told trip.com that they told me they couldn't check me in until the system was up and that wasn't until 6-7pm. Then trip called them back and their reply was. The system was up all morning until 3pm so we could have checked her in? It was one lie after another, unless the problem was just the front desk girl that was supposed to check me in. maybe she didn't want to check me in or she was ****** I don't know but this place ****** and I didn't even get a chance to stay there to say how fully it ******. If there was a date for negative 100 I would rate this place for that. I will not recommend anybody to stay here. I'm putting my experience on social media to Warren ppl so this won't happen to anybody else.

Th nicest Fairfield I have stayed in. The staff were so helpful. Room was very clean, and the night was quiet. The hotel is conveniently close to the freeway. Breakfast could have been better, but it was adequate. We would stay here again when our travels take us to SLC.

Great location and very clean. Enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. The Staffs are helpful and courteous during our stays. Highly recommend. Lots of restaurants nearby for walking distance if you don't have a car. Very convenient to get around.

This place is literally a Motel 6 with makeup on. So not worth the extra money. Had to stay in SLC on a whim and I’ve stayed at value focused hotels that are better. Carpet is nylon (cheap) and gross. Not clean at all. I mean, you can’t find a few feet of clean and unstained carpet, that’s how bad it was. Rooms are super cramped. Corners have been cut which is quite apparent. Service consisted of a gentleman who couldn’t care less about what his guest’s concerns are. Breakfast is served for 2.5 hours. Not a Marriott property at all. Disgusted that they still operate under the Marriott flag. It’s so far from it. I’ve stayed in economy focused hotels that are way better and cost HALF. Trust me, stay somewhere else. Please, you’ll thank me and yourself for doing so later.

We checked in for 2 nights and it was a great stay. Standard rooms with a fridge. Felt safe for us two females staying in, and it's also in a good location. Staff were nice and parking was easy. Would stay here again if I were to come back to Salt Lake City.
