Hotel Sonar Bangla Mayapur

Sonar Bangla Mayapur resort is located about 18km away from Mayapur mandir. A part of the approach road from the NH 12 is dirt road then Macadamised. The resort is a well built spacious property with mulple two storied accommodation arranged around a huge swimming pool. It also has a gym. The AC rooms are spacious with view of the pool from the balcony. The 4 bedded rooms have a double bed perched on an elevation which can be reached on 11 wonky steps on which you are liable to fall. In fact one family member did fall and injure himself as well. The hotel is understaffed. It cannot cope with the weekend rush. The room service becomes pitiable at such times. Breakfast service during rush hours is also not up to the mark. The breakfast menu needs revision. Overall , Sonar Bangla Hotel, Mayapur has good infrastructure, but is short of staff to provide good service to residents. The wonky steps in the 4 bedded bedrooms need to ge replaced urgently before any major mishap happens.

Extremely poor hotel management. Staff of the hotel treats their guest as their servant and specially the GM of the hotel, Mr. Dutta thinks that he is the owner of the hotel and no one is beyond him. They don't even know how to talk to their guests. For anyone travelling there, please please please don't stay in this property otherwise be prepared for the ill treatment from the GM and his staff

Awesome place. One of the best resort at Mayapur . Great ambiance. Well maintained property. Staff behaviour awesome. Foods are good in quality & tasty. Cleanliness and hygiene properly maintained all over the property. Swimming pool is lovely.

It is premium property with stretched premise. Very well curated and mainted landscapes and gardens. It is on a bank of a river and has a beautiful view. The resort has major modern facilities like resturants, bar, spa, kids room, banquet, games room, gym etc. We stayed in the duplex room. The rooms are big, neat and tidy and prompt room service. All the amenities in the room was working. The children park was very useful when you have a child with you. The resturant food taste and quality was very good but the cost was on a higher side. The service and the service manager of the restaurant was also very professional. Suggestion- 1. You can provide a inroom basket with some small chips packs, few chocolates or cookes like major premium property does. 2. Please provide moisturizer and shaving kit with the toiletries, as it has become habbit for me to not to carry thoses. 3. Plz increase the breakfast spread, serve non vegetarian foods and you should include bakery and sweet dishes in the breakfast, that is must. These are not flaws but suggestions for betterment.

Pool was great and the water was clean and temperature was moderate. Breakfast was okay. some of them were tasty .

The property and rooms were decent and spacious. But these two alone don't make a pleasant stay. There was no sense of hospitality in the staff or the system of the hotel. Anything we asked - an extra goodknight, extra bottle of RO water, cup in room their answer was NO. When we requested multiple times and mentioned our room was booked for three, they reluctantly gave stuff. Food was pathetic and all restaurants close at 1030. No option for late night dining in a four star property! Spa was another disappointment with the two women having the same reluctant attitude as other staff. Both women were very unprofessional and had zero training. At breakfast, we found the melamine bowls were stained and glasses were dirty. In asking to change the glass, the waiter argued that they were clean, refusing to change the glasses. I can't stress enough about the unprofessional attitude of the staff. Overall, a very average stay and definitely not worth the price.

It was nice an experience overall. The food and ambience specially has really been good. The service is really praiseworthy.

The stay was nice . But there are issues with the management there . We arrived the venue at 11.30 AM and although out check in time was 1 PM we were told that we will get hour room before time . But it got delayed further and further and we got our keys after the actual check in time of 1 PM. This was the common issues for almost all the people coming there before time . One of the persons started shouting harshly on them and he got his key well before time even though he arrived later than most of us . So, this was the management in reception . Bell boys were not available as there were only 3 of them with so many rooms and hence check in was delayed further . Other services are good . The food ordered for lunch arrived on time . Room ambience was good and the area around is pleasant to stay . Overall a good experience.
