It's the best hotel ever

Due to bad weather, I entered the facility early, but the staff were very accommodating and I was able to stay a comfortable night. The food and hot springs were both excellent.

A group of five people stayed for one night! The staff was polite and helpful! The room is very spacious, and I especially appreciate the location of the small living room on the terrace. After soaking in the hot springs, I enjoyed chatting with friends in the evening. It was very enjoyable! The ingredients for dinner are fresh, special and delicious! The buffet breakfast is rich and has many choices. I look forward to staying here again!

From the moment we were picked up to the moment we were seen off, this inn was a model example of hospitality. The service was very pleasant, and I realized that the most important aspect of an inn is the people. The rooms and baths were clean and wonderful, the restaurant's interior was sophisticated, and there was a wide selection of drinks. The variety of breakfast options was amazing! The bread corner alone was like a bakery. Although I only stayed one night, I was able to truly relax. This is a very good inn. I'll definitely be coming back.

Style. Traditional hotel, a bit dated Setting. Japan countryside off the beaten path 2 hours from Fukuoka airport Explore. Motonosumi Inari Shrine. Akiyoshido cave. @ the hotel. Hotel first built 1881 on site of a hot spring discovered by a monk 600 years ago. Open air baths with high alkaline. Spa treatments. Hotel hosted a summit with Shinzo Abe and Putin in 2016. Rooms. Various room options, I chose a 900’ corner room surrounded by nature with a stunning view of the Otozure river on one side & the mountain on the other side. Room had tatami mats & futon beds. Bathroom came with a jacuzzi that you can just soak in while enjoying the views. Toilet room very dated with an ugly urinal in it. Food & drinks. Multiple dining options. I had kaiseki dinner which included wagyu, Yamaguchi seafood i.e. fugu blowfish, abalone etc at Zuiun, & breakfast at Unyu Prices. Good value at US$556 for room & meals to feed two, especially since back in Hong Kong, a kaiseki dinner will easily cost $350 per person Rating. 4/5

Our Japanese friends organised a night here for us as their guests. Most amazing luxurious hotel I have ever stayed at. We were totally spoilt by the level of luxury, the great food, huge onsen baths and super friendly staff = was an absolutely amazing Japan experience and holiday highlight.

Due to the heavy rains in 2023, the Mine Line will be suspended, so take a replacement bus from Nagato City Station and get off at Nagato Yumoto Station. It's about a 20-minute walk to the destination. A large, luxurious building along the river. Used for day-use bathing. First, have lunch in the lounge next to the front desk, a clubhouse sandwich and coffee. Bacon on nicely toasted bread, fried eggs, plenty of vegetables, and delicious aurora dressing. There is a large public bath, a slightly small but moderately high-temperature sauna, and two open-air baths. It's great to lie in bed surrounded by trees and enjoy the sound of the river.

There are good and bad points. The service is perfect. The bad points are that you have to bring your own bath towel from the room, which is not luxurious. There are few dishes, few side dishes for breakfast, and only a few grilled fish dishes. The night live performance is terrible! It seems like only the karaoke singer is satisfied! His voice is too quiet and you can't understand what he's saying! The live performance should be stopped or replaced by someone else.

My wife and I stayed in a terrace suite with an open-air bath. The entire hotel was gorgeous and relaxing. We had beer and sake in the lounge, then had a sauna and an open-air bath in the large communal bath. It was the best experience I've ever had. Dinner was also delicious, with a refined flavor that went well with the sake, and I was very satisfied. Breakfast was also very delicious and filled me up. The timing of the food was excellent, and it was the best experience I've ever had 🦆 I'll definitely be back.

The service was perfect in every situation. Check-in, check-out, car storage, meals, when going for a walk, when asking about tourist information, etc. It was perfect and the bare minimum, meaning there was no sense of "excess, no need to go that far." Example 1) (2 people) One person did the check-in procedure, and the other person was guided to the sofa in the lobby, and we discussed meal times and other matters while drinking matcha on the sofa in the lobby. Example 2) My wife, who doesn't drink alcohol, first asked, "Can we serve you rice as well?" and we declined, but halfway through, when we were eating sukiyaki, she asked again, "What about rice?" and when we answered, "Thank you," she asked, "Can we just serve you rice with miso soup?" I thought, "This is what it means to charge money for service." Also, the facilities in the room, the large public bath, the lobby, and everywhere else were perfect, functional, and clean. I think the washbasin, bath, and toilet space in the room are quite old, but they were perfectly clean. The changing space and bath in the large public bath were spacious and very comfortable. The many sofas and tatami-mat relaxation spaces along the corridors were also wonderful.

It is located at the very back of Nagato Yumoto Onsen. You enter the inn by crossing a bridge from the road, but the bridge at the entrance is a bit narrow. Also, when you enter by car, the staff will greet you, but since 7-8 staff members come at the same time, it feels more like a crowd than a welcoming one, so I think it would be better to reduce the number of staff members a little. From check-in to guiding to the room, everything was smooth and polite. The rooms are spacious and well-cleaned. The large public bath is very spacious, and the dressing room is well-designed and easy to use. We had dinner and breakfast at the venue, but the guidance was smooth and the content was good. At night, you can watch the stars with staff at the rooftop observation deck, which is a new experience, although it requires a reservation (you can also just walk in if it's available). The shop on the second floor is well-stocked, and you can find almost all souvenirs from Yamaguchi Prefecture. It is a relatively large inn, but I did not have any unpleasant experiences with the cleaning or staff.

There were no online sales for single people on Rakuten or Jalan, so I gave up and looked at the inn's website, and found that they had a single person option for a short period of time, so I applied right away. It was a bit expensive at 38,500 yen for one night and two meals, but that's unavoidable. The room was spacious and tea was well prepared. Dinner was kaiseki cuisine in the restaurant, and dinner was a buffet at the same venue, but the food was delicious and satisfying, and I would like to visit again if I'm in the area.
