Stayed one night at this property and wasn't disappointed. We were upgraded to a big room where we could sleep four persons comfortably. To help other travellers who may consider this property; 1) both the kaiseki dinner and morning breakfast were served in the dinning room on the ground floor; 2) there are 2 public onsen baths - one for males and one for females. You don't have to pay for the use of them; 3) there are 2 private onsen baths situated after a flight of stairs and their roofs can be drawn back. These 2 private baths are chargeable by the hour. 4) the ryokan provides 2-way transfer from a nearby train station to the property. But take note the morning shuttle from the property starts at 9.20am. I must commend Mr Yamamoto at the front desk (hope I got his name correct) for his patience and resourcefulness to advise me to re-route my shinkansen timing to Tokyo. He even wrote the instruction for changes in Japanese for me to show the staff at the JR station. Only minor comments: there are 2 windows in my room and one of them overlooked a construction area and my room had strong food smell despite the staff told me that all meals were served in the dining hall. Suggest that the ryokan should refresh the room.

The location of hotel is in a walking distance from Kyoto Station. It is not close to the town 四條町. Every time when we go for shopping, we need to take a bus to the downtown. Easy access to anywhere by bus. The hotel staffs are very professional. The breakfast is highly recommended to book before departure. The hot spring, the room size, buffet breakfast, the service of reception are in a high standard. Highly recommended to the travelers who is planning to Kyoto. Interesting point: No shoes in this hotel. U need to lock your shoes in the locker before you walk in the hotel. They provided socks for you to wear.

Out of the hotel is the mountain road (motorized lane), no one walks, no street lights at night, passengers do not rent a car to walk, it is recommended to stick to the roadside to walk on the right. The nearest bus stop is sugio, in the east of Gotham City, about 1 km away, and it takes 15 minutes to walk. Sugisan is a village with several families. There are few bus classes, and there are three classes a day. The earliest class is 6:20, the second class is more than 12 noon, there is another class in the evening, but it is difficult to come back at night, it is recommended to go out at 6:20 in the morning. The latest bus to come back is the north exit of JR Gaoju Station, and it was missed at 3:55 in the afternoon. The nearest bus stop to the north is at the foot of the mountain. The Lushan Shrine in Guigang City (the red leaves in autumn are said to be not bad. I live in April with cherry blossoms. Look at the picture).
