Excellent view from my room, hotel is in a great location and the staff seem friendly. The breakfast selection is good. The downside of this hotel is the cleanliness. There is dirt in the corners of the rooms and too much mould in the bathroom for the price of the hotel. Needs a deep clean in the bathrooms.

It is a good spot to buy necessary stuffs and an access full place to see some view and go other view spot you want to see. facilities is so so. service is just ok. restaurant persons probably tke your food plans and bowl quickly if you don't notice that, it is kind of rude way. except this , other aspects is ok or so so for this restaurant. besides,you can rent bike easily outside in this spot.

When I came to Sun Moon Lake, I walked along the lakeside and watched the shining water surface caused by the breeze, causing waves of ripples, lining the distant mountain scenery, the scenery is really touching. While the sun still hasn’t fully jumped to the sky, I quickly change into my gear, step on a bicycle, and ride along the road around the lake. Along the way, visit Xuanguang Temple, Ci’en Pagoda, Ita Thao, Wenwu Temple and Shuishe Wharf and other popular and well-known attractions. The hotel is located above the Sun Moon Lake. The view is fantastic. We booked one lake view room and one room facing the mountain. The room is spacious and the bed is comfortable. The hotel is a bit old. The water pressure of the bathroom is very low, thus it took a long time to take a bath. The water pipe of the water basin is a bit long, it is easy to hurt your eyes if you were careless. The room lights are a bit dim while the sound of the air conditioning is quite noisy. Food varieties of breakfast is good but lack of staffs to refill the foods. You wouldn’t have much to eat if you come to breakfast lately say after 9.30am. The hotel has two car parking spaces. It is convenient and free of charge.

Stayed in the Tree House Villa for two nights. It was very clean, comfortable and well decorated.
The front desk service is enthusiastic, and the breakfast and dinner are also delicious and of a high standard.
The slide is very fast, and the two children are very satisfied. Even the 40-year-old boy finds it very fun. The only thing is that it requires a hard landing when it reaches the ground. It is recommended that the bottom section should be changed into a buffer zone.
The bathroom is very large, and the double massage room faces the uninhabited hillside along the pool window. You understand.

Location is short throw from nantou bus stop. Slight walking distance to 7-Eleven. Has hotpot restaurant at the hotel lobby. Good mountain scenic view from hotel.
Only down side was that there are no road light outside. If wanna grab thing from 7-Eleven at night, hotel can lend a torchlight for u to walk there.

The best part about this hotel (国民賓館) is its location. Bus 6664, 6658, 6659 all stop less than 80m from its entrance if you're using Nantou bus. It's along the main road which is easy for pickups if you're joining local day or night tours. Across the road from Little Swiss Garden. Even Cingjing Farm has signs along its walking paths directing visitors to the hotel.
The other main benefit was that the room rates I paid on Trip.com included a pair of tickets to Green Green Grassland, Little Swiss Garden and a discounted ticket (only need top up 30TWD each) to the Cingjing Skywalk - pleasantly surprised to know this only at check-in although I knew beforehand that the room rates included basic Chinese breakfast for 2, which was another convenient point for guests.
The hotel buildings and room was a bit dated, no aircon since the weather in the evening and morning is cooling. But the room, bed, utilensils and toilet were clean. The view from the room balcony and hotel garden was nice to view sunset.

GGuest UserLocation is super convenient, barely 50m from the 7-eleven and SML's Nantou Bus Ticketing counter where Nantou Bus 6670 from Taichung drop passengers. The ground floor of the B&B is a elegantly decorated tea-shop and had a pleasant whiff of red-dates chinese tea, very welcoming on a hot day. Our room was nicely renovated, very cosy and clean, well laid out, with Taiwan cable channels and Youtube smart TV box. It has modern toilet fittings and very refreshing lightly scented shampoo and body wash in dispensers. The lady at the counter (小芸) was absolutely helpful. She sold us discounted ferry tickets compared to buying from the counters at the pier, explained activities to do and places to visit and boat/bus routes around SML when we arrived and gave us a WhatsApp to contact her for any queries. She also advised us to visit Itashao to taste the street foods for lunch and recommend places for dinner through WhatsApp after returning to Shiushe without pushing us to visit the restaurants nor buy tea from the shop. Truly warm ********* hospitality and the best part of staying in this B&B.

GGuest User I saw netizens evaluate well before. When I checked in, I found that most of them were repeat customers. The furnishings in the room were as simple as photos ... But the next day I got up and the amazing beauty came into sight. In the morning, insects and birds called the mountains and mists. Understand why so many repeat customers stayed at the front desk service is friendly, breakfast is simple and delicious, the air on the mountain is fresh, I will come back next time I go to Qingjing~

GGuest UserHave been to this property and it was an amazing stay for one night. Hotel looks are like European cottages made of wood. Rooms are also nice.
Location is just 2 min walk to Swiss garden and really convenient as there is a 7eleven around and also shuttle bus stop.
Cleanliness: Hotel rooms and the whole place is quite neet and clean.
Service: Awesome, staff was really helpful with everything and they even allow us early checkin which was much appreciated as we were travelling with a 2 year old.
Food: Nice breakfast and they even cooked some vegetarian food for lunch. Have happy hour where serve tea and snacks which will be enough for dinner.
Overall this property is owned by The Old England Manor which is another best hotels in town and they maintain the same service here as well.
This should be a 4 star hotel instead of 3 star.

GGuest UserWent during mid dec and was worry about the room having no heater. But the room was just nice with the temperature similar to a normal aircon room and there is heater in the bed. Hot water for shower was constant. Room is very clean. No lift. We use the slope for luggage and only few steps for carrying the luggage. Best part is the star gazing at 830pm and we are lucky enough to have the clouds cleared and saw a few shooting stars!!!! Such luck!!! In the morning, we saw the clouds within the mountain! Very pretty view!!! Breakfast was simple but tasted good. As we hired a driver, we didnt need to walk out to the complex for dinner, but the road do look v dark and very narrow at night.

GGuest UserThe superior double room on the 3rd floor is in the middle of the building. There are 2 TVs in total. The B&B also has a capsule coffee machine. The balcony has a beautiful view. If you want to drink coffee in the morning and take photos, go into the room and close the doors and windows tightly. There are non-toxic drugs on the mountain. Ji Da Xing Chun Xiang, you must wear slippers in the bathroom, they are slippery, and there is a warning to bring your own toothpaste and toothbrush.
Breakfast is a buffet, mostly Chinese style. The fried cabbage is great. Children love the spicy fried instant noodles. The American coffee is also good and not too light.
It is a 6-minute drive from Cingjing Farm and a 5-minute walk from 7-11. The location is good.
The only drawback is that the sound of pulling out a chair in each room can be heard clearly, but there is no sound of speech.

Room was as per advertised. Spacious enough for a family of 4.
Toothbrush, comb, shavers and towels are available too.
Staff was good and clear of information. Just be mindful that after 8pm onwards, there would be no staff around - so you would require to remember the password of the main entrance.
NOTE: There's no English T&Cs, so be prepared to have your Google translator on your phone if you can't read Chinese.
Constant hot water for shower would be from 5PM to 12PM daily. If you would to shower earlier in the morning, you would require let the water run for awhile before the hot water is available otherwise you may have to shower with icy cold water.
Generally, you would require a transport within Cingjing else it's not accessible for you to grab food or your necessities from the 7-11.
Breakfast is available at NT$200/pax from 7:30AM - 9AM. Brunch is available at ala carte prices ranging from NT$150 onwards from 9AM - 2PM. Restaurants are available within Cingjing if you have your own transportation. Otherwise, you may wish to call the cafe located at the Swiss Garden, they do offer food delivery but be sure to check on their operating hours. 😀

If you don't have access to a car, be prepared for a few transportation challenges. Walking to and from the bus stop to Cing Jing Farm can be a bit challenging, as there are no dedicated pedestrian pathways, and you'll be sharing the road with trucks and lorries. The nearest 711 convenience store is a considerable distance away, and I wouldn't recommend walking there due to safety concerns.
On the plus side, the hotel's customer service is exceptional, particularly their prompt responses on LINE. They were incredibly helpful in answering my questions about navigating the sometimes confusing public transport system.
One of the standout features is the breathtaking view from the balcony. On clear days, you can enjoy unforgettable sunsets, making it a fantastic spot to relax. While some guests have mentioned concerns about sound insulation, I personally didn't find it to be a major issue. However, it's worth noting that noise from neighboring rooms, especially if there are children, maybe more noticeable due to the wooden floors.

GGuest UserGreat location as the hotel is right in the center of the Ita Thao town where you can easily walk to the lake, pier, hiking/bike trail, and foodie places. Hotel staff are very friendly and willing to help every step if asked. The high floor suite is sizable with fairly large jacuzzi tub and shower room. A private balcony provides a partial view to the lake. Free designated parking garage is a plus in a crowded town. The lake view however is partially blocked by some apartments in front but the hotel is still close to the water front. The hotel building, incl room, furnitures and decorations, does show some age and is about right to have its current star rating and price. We definitely enjoyed the stay.

GGuest UserWe stayed at Shuian Lakeside Hotel for 2 nights, and the hospitality throughout our stay was the best that I've ever experienced. Everyone at the hotel was amazing, most especially the owners. Mrs. Hwang, I believe is her name, was one of them, and she went above and beyond. She was very accommodating with our request to change our room when we first arrived. The next day, when she found out we were heading to Wenwu Temple, which would take 20 minutes by bus, she offered to drive us since she was heading that direction. Later that night, she and her husband took the time to help us figure out which early bus to take in order for us to make our connection to Taichung Station. When we asked where the bus stop was, she went a step further to show us by taking us there personally! The hotel's location was perfect — by the lake and in the center of everything. The room was new, clean and comfortable. And what a bonus, breakfast was included! I was very pleased with the breakfast, which consisted of porridge, eggs, vegetables and 6 other dishes. Bananas were also provided. It kept us full till late in the afternoon. I enjoyed staying in Ita Thao, and Mrs. Hwang definitely made it special and memorable. I appreciate her warmth and kindness. If you're looking for a good hotel and people, I definitely recommend Shuian Lakeside Hotel.
