Not too impressed with this place. The lobby is so small that when a large group arrives, as we did, we couldn't all get in the door with our lugguge. Even when you're on your own, the two lifts are so close to the front door, that the automatic doors keep opening & closing whilst you wait. Ridiculous. The Dining Room only has one small toaster for the whole of breakfast service, resulting in long queues & long waits. My room was large & comfortable, but the bathroom tiny. The location of the hotel is good, with many rooms having a sea-view (through the Nordic pines) and it's close to downtown with its pubs & bars. OK for one night.

Service hotel apartment, strategic location, located in the commercial center, convenient for shopping, dining and entertainment. One bedroom, one living room and one bathroom with bathtub, open kitchen, air-conditioning, electric fan, Internet TV. The sanitary conditions are good, the decoration style is rather old, the entrance aisles are narrow, the mattresses are soft, and the lower floors have no scenery. The front desk service is enthusiastic. There is a reading room on the first floor where you can rest. There is no reception desk in the evening. Paid parking next to the hotel is $1 an hour or $5 a day.

We stayed here for 3 nights. I can assure everyone who is planning to come to Napier, we had a good experience for staying at this hotel in every aspect, cleanliness, location near city centre by 5 mins walk, countdown and pack n save just 2 mins aways. Beach is just 7 mins away from hotel. Sushi shop just 5 mins aways. Everything you want is near you. You will enjoy staying at this hotel. hotel's staff are super attentive to your requirements. All the bad reviews I can say they seems to be irrelevant. Non of them we faced here.

Good value motel right on the beachfront of the resort. Rooms are a bit dated, but they are large, clean, and have all amenities you require. There is a separate living room area bedroom and bathroom, ours also had the added bonus of a very large spa bath. We found them to be very quiet. They were short of staff during our visit, so there no servicing of the rooms, but on request, they did provide clean towels, etc. Overall a good choice for a visit to Napier.

Well this is a first!! The first terrible review we have ever written! We had a confirmed booking a year ago at this Motel through *********** for a concert and had put all our plans in place to get away, including travelling some distance to get there. We suddenly received a cancellation notice from this Motel via *********** for no reason and just a few weeks before the concert. This weekend was v popular and there are no other options for accomodation at such short notice. After repeated attempts to call the Motel, messages and emails left unanswered and *********** confirming the booking was cancelled by the Motel, we can only assume that they have resold our room for a higher price and put money well above any commitment to customers or service. By far the worst experience we have had of lack of communication, unprofessionalism and a lack of respect from a hospitality business in NZ. An extremely disappointing and frustrating experience from an accomodation provider who doesn’t seem to care.

The room was very clean, but had a little smoking and damp smell. There is big jacuzzi in the room without door which believes best for honeymoon couple, but for family is not suitable. Exterior looks a little run down. Otherwise, it is ok for just a night of stays.

Very clean and tidy, we ordered the ground floor, the front desk upgraded us to the third floor, very quiet. The balcony can see the seaside, there are fried chicken and izakaya opposite the hotel, praise! ! There is free parking, and friends who drive can choose this place. The location is great. The bed was very comfortable and the hardness was moderate. Very pleasant stay~

Beautiful place to stay considering it was 280 per night which full amount was paid before i got ther. After travelling all afternoon I feel i was racially profiled when checking in and had a 200 dollar bond put on my visa which isn't mentioned anywhere on the booking information so felt very BLINDSIDED and uncomfortable.

I booked a whole cabin for myself. There was a double bed and 4 bunk beds connected to a bathroom and kitchen/living room. There was a picnic table outside on the verandah and a car space just outside. The kitchen is well provided for with oven and gas hobs. There's toaster, kettle, fridge etc. ... I only boiled some eggs! It would be comfortable for a family in good weather and there were BBQs on site. Slept well but limited space for clothes if 6 people on site. There is a restaurant on site ... ”The Storkey” ... but I did not use. Easy to find shops a mile down the road.

My colleague and I needed some urgent accommodation in Napier to support a customer. The Albatross had a twin room unit that suited our needs during the busy part of the summer season in the Hawke's Bay. The room was fresh, clean and welcoming. Excellent Wi-Fi speed! The shower was good with good pressure. We would certainly stay at the Albatross again. The BayView hotel just down the road was perfect for a walk for a very nice meal and a large selection of both local and national craft beers. Great garden bar to enjoy a lovely summers evening. Or I'm sure a cracking fire in the cooler months.

Outstanding
LlostinlosaThis older but well-maintained property is ideally located in Napier. It is within walking distance of the old downtown and a number of very good restaurants; it also faces Hawke's Bay (some rooms probably have an ocean view). It was surprisingly quiet despite being on the main street by the water. The owners are very helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a good kitchenette that we used daily for breakfast. The room was little quirky, in a fun way. The bedroom included a giant bathtub that reminded me of something from a honeymoon suite in the Pocono Mountains. There was also a separate bathroom that included a shower. For wine lovers, the motel is a short drive from the greatest concentration of high end cellar doors (tasting rooms) in Hawke's Bay. This facility met our needs well.
GGuest UserMy suite at harbour view was just what I needed. With a beautiful view and very reasonable room, I now feel refreshed. The spa bath and high pressure shower was great. The room comes with full Sky TV and outdoor furniture for the balcony. The room was spotless when I arrived. While the building is outdated, I saw two contractors painting today, so I feel the owner is working on updating and improving this which is great to see. Interestingly, I picked this motel because the room was a great price. I normally expect to see something wrong when this happens, but I was pleasantly surprised. Thank you harvourview for a wonderful stay!
MMeander06553072721My little unit had everything you could possibly need, a comfortable bed with soft pillows, aircon to keep you warm on chilly mornings and evenings, tea, coffee and hot chocolate, all the normal kitchen basics and wine glasses! Essential! But what stood out for me the most, is that my unit was hands down the cleanest motel or hotel room I have ever stayed in.. and flying for a living, I’ve stayed in my fair share of hotels around the world! I’d usually return from visiting family in Taradale sometime during the afternoon and was able to enjoy a cup of tea with the little French door open and enjoy the last of the afternoon sun I’ll definitely be staying here again next time!
We recently held a second family wedding at the East Pier. Like the first we could not fault anything. The venue, accommodation, food, staff, service etc. We appreciated the last minute switch from an outside service to an inside one due to the weather conditions. The staff quickly organised the indoor area and the wedding proceeded without a hitch. The family had a great time and we do not hesitate in recommending the East Pier for an event, accommodation and/or simply dining. Thanks Dave & team. The Grant/Borren families
Really surprised by the recent negative reviews for this motel, as we had a good experience, albeit we only stayed for one night so didn't have long to appreciate it and didn't need to use the kitchenette. We arrived at 1215 and were very grateful to find that our 1st floor ocean front room with spa bath was available, well before the stipulated check in time, as we were booked to be picked up by the Grape Escapes Vineyard Tour 15 mins later and had anticipated only being able to leave the car there. When we got back to the motel early evening we used the washer and dryer facilities and also enjoyed the lovely spa bath at the back of the room which felt like a real treat. The room itself was nicely decorated and spacious. We then headed out for dinner and managed to get a late table at the very nice Hunger Monger restaurant, which is about 15mins walk into the town. We walked into town again first thing in the morning and enjoyed breakfast at the Albion Canteen and had a quick look around town at the art deco buildings. With what little time we had we enjoyed the ocean view from the hotel. The beach is stony so not really one to sit on. The hotel has its own car park via a driveway that goes through to the back, and is also accessible from the parallel road behind. The roads are very quiet at night so no issues there. We enjoyed our short but sweet stay and would be happy to recommend the hotel, although as it was part of a month's touring package I don't know what the rate was that we paid.
GGuest UserWhat a fantastic motel! If friendly service, cleanliness and a welcoming smile is top of your list then this is the place for you. Over our stay of 4 days we utilised the pool area, the outdoor chairs(just outside our unit). We appreciated the milk, range of teas, the coffee and Xmas treats left out for us...one of us is partial to eating copious amounts of chocolate! Thank you to the cleaning team who topped up everything and replaced the towels.
GGuest UserI stayed in one of the self-contained motel apartments at the Napier Beach Kiwi Holiday Park and Motels. At the same time there were plenty of people with tents and mobile homes/campers.
The location is excellent in that it is right on the beach and being far enough away from SH1 so that it is really calm and with no noise.
Very well looked after by friendly management. Highly recommended.
GGuest UserAn absolute disgrace. It has blown my mind reading other reviews. The pictures shown online are nothing like what the place was like. I walked into the garden shed and it was a sauna, I had to leave the aircon on full blast 24/7 for 4 days, to spend as little time as possible here. There was no wifi when we arrived, the manager did try to help, “standing outside the door you get a bit of wifi” it eventually came on the next day only in one room! There were pubes in the bed from previous customers, the sofas are completely sunken in, you cannot sit on them. I felt so repulsed even making a cup of coffee. It was that awful I would leave the house around 9am and not return til 11pm, I couldn’t handle the depression of being in this dump. I couldn’t book anywhere else as it was NYE. I considered going back home it was that awful. Also there was no hand wash in the house, given the pandemic I was surprised. There was a hole in the front door, a stain that looked like poo on the toilet wall. I cannot express how much of a dump this place is. The curtains had to be drawn all day to keep out the heat, the building is a shed, you could put a hole in the wall with your thumb. It felt like a crack house with curtains drawn all day, the weird smell and just the overall state of the furniture. To top it off, customers from the pub were rowing outside our dump unit one night, a guy punched the woman to the floor, police were called. This place needs to be bulldozed.
