How in the world does Marriott have a hotel here? This was no Marriott Renaissance. This hotel was HORRIBLE. My room was dusty, old, and cramped. I put in for an "upgrade" as a Titanium status and all they did was give me a high floor and STINKY room. It smelled bad. Everything was dated and run down. It felt like a 1970s movie. We pulled into the garage to drop off bags, and then returned the car to the airport -- they tried to charge me a night of parking. Cut to the restaurant -- holy moly was that BAD. Super expensive and just downright awful. The service was terrible -- I had to get up twice to go find someone to bring salt, etc. And my food was almost inedible. I hadn't eaten all day after a long travel day and then scuba diving, so I mechanically ate it anyway, but on any other day I would have sent it back and asked for a refund. None of our food was good. I told the head waiter, but none of them really cared and I know they aren't changing. SO BAD. I can't express how bad it was. It's Italy. I should be able to be blindfolded and walk into something with amazing food. Nope. THEN, there's the whole Naples thing. Naples is disgusting. I did not feel safe walking around at all -- it's dirty, stinky (pee), and homeless all over the place. I think Marriott should pull out of Naples altogether. It's not becoming of the brand. So the grander scheme of things -- avoid Naples, and then avoid this hotel.
