Sundunes Hotel Naxos

Beautiful resort, however missing a Greek vibe. Limited food choices as pool bar closed and evening restaurants not open. Resort Manager tried to charge for the resorts umbrella on the beach as an extra . Poor form as you are paying over $1100 Aus per night accommodation. Naxos residents apparently can utilise umbrellas for free, but guest have to pay to use resorts umbrella.

We booked this last minute but it was probably the nicest hotel we have ever stayed. Went as a family (kids 8&10). We had a villa with a pool which was spotless, incredibly comfy, well equipped. It had a wonderful view and was really quiet. The main pool is hard to describe and the photos don’t do it justice. It’s really big and peaceful. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. They would gently keep checking everything was ok. They sorted out our ferries. The manager was exceptional. The beach is 2 mins walk. A long, totally sandy beach with a low shore which was perfect for kids. The sea was crystal clear. We walked to several restaurants and beach bars each night and the sunset was gorgeous. There are lots of restaurants in walking distance. We even walked 1 mile to the next bay. We did hire a car and drove off into the mountains one day, which I would definitely recommend. We just booked the car on the day in the town and got a good deal. This hotel would be a reason for us to go back to Naxos. We are keen to try other islands but fear we would always compare with Sundunes.

I can't say enough how amazing this place is. Made me never want to leave.... beautiful property, clean, great food and drinks, immaculate beach and walking distance to multiple restaurants. But the best part is the staff. Nasos (the manager), Alex, Alexandra, Nick, Chris, Anastasia, George make you feel like family. They helped me arrange my proposal and made everything better than I could have possibly imagined. Thank you all so much!! This place is truly special. If you want the most relaxing beach vacation in Greece look no further. 11/10

Sundunes was such a wonderful hotel. We went to Naxos for a friend's wedding and stayed there and had ZERO issues with the hotel. We especially want to thank Alexandria at the restaurant as well as Alex. I think the other barman/waiter was Nick and he was amazing too. They went OVER AND ABOVE to do everything for us. No was never an answer - they always did what they could even if they didn't have it on the menu etc. We were welcomed by Nasos when we arrived who was super informative and friendly and made us feel very welcome. The rooms were super cute and comfortable, extremely clean, and the pool was gorgeous.

It‘s a beautiful new builded Hotel, with Design rooms, a nice Pool Bar and private space with Service at the Beach. They have super nice room in different sizes, espresso machine and great size to enjoy your time their at fullest. The owners are offering an excellent service all the time and take care of your needs (organize taxi, recommendations). If you‘re looking for your perfect hidden 5 Stars Spot on the Island, with an amazing Design and extraordinary Service, this sould be your Choice! ☀️🩵🇬🇷☀️🩵🇬🇷☀️

Having worked in hospitality for over 16 years and having traveled extensively worldwide, my recent experience at this hotel was profoundly disappointing. The stay proved to be one of the worst I've encountered on multiple fronts. Upon check-in, the state of the room was notably subpar, marked by its uncleanliness. Our request for the cleaning staff was met with the explanation that the cleaning lady had already concluded her shift for the day. Even when I insisted on the room's poor condition, the staff member accompanying us indicated that she would personally undertake the cleaning. The hotel's unfinished state was evident throughout the premises, with visible stains in various areas. The quality of the establishment fell far short of the corresponding price point. The breakfast area also raised concerns as it failed to meet basic health and safety standards. Items such as yogurt, butter, cheese, eggs, and sausages were left exposed for extended periods without proper refrigeration or temperature control. The absence of distinct sections for hot and cold foods was striking; instead, all items were placed together without regard for appropriate temperature maintenance. Despite the presence of their own sun beds and beach area, our experience requesting towels proved frustrating. After being informed that towels would be fetched from the reception, we waited for over 20 minutes to no avail. Observing other guests leaving their sun beds due to towel shortages, we were taken aback when the Beach Boys collected used towels from other guests, folded them behind their desk, and then presented them to us as if they were newly acquired. Attempts to communicate with the management were met with limited success, as it appeared that the only available point of contact was a lady who might have been one of the owners. The absence of a hospitality background among the staff was evident in their approach to guests. Their lack of professionalism was highlighted by their tendency to shift blame onto guests rather than address concerns constructively. Regrettably, choosing this establishment was a mistake. Despite its recent opening and efforts to present itself as a five-star venue, the reality falls far short of even three-star standards. The level of service I encountered was the poorest I have experienced in Greece, and the overall management of the establishment left me deeply unimpressed.

I spent one week with my family to this amazing hotel. What we enjoyed the most was the cozy and stylish rooms and also the other amenities like the huge swimming pool (kids loved it 😀) and the comfy sunbeds at the beach. The personell was very friendly and always welcoming our requests. What we also valued was the level of cleanliness which is a ‘Must’ for us. The location is very quiet and just next to the beach. Parking is also provided for free. We will definitely visit this hotel again
