It is only one block away from the shopping and pedestrian street, only a 5-minute walk from the beach, and only 4 kilometers from the airport. The suite is great, with a balcony. The hotel is clean and tidy. The original check-in at 2 pm was very intimate and informed that you can check in at 10 am. If you still go to Crete, you will definitely choose this hotel. The only thing missing is that there is no gym.

We stayed at the hotel for five nights in July 2022. There were eight of us in total so two families. The location is absolutely perfect as it is right in the middle of Heraklion, opposite the bustling square with its wonderful with its Artisan stalls which are worth visiting and only a short walk to the shops and wonderful selection of restaurants. Heraklion is a truly bustling and Cosmopolitan city. The Hotel is very close to Heraklion Archaeological Museum and a bus or taxi ride to the beach. It is also not too far from the port you can walk there but we took a very quick taxi due to the heat. Upon arrival we were made to feel very welcome and our baggage was taken to our room for us. The reception area is refreshing to walk into from the heat outside and the decor is lovely and very modern with a comfortable seating area. There is a downstairs bar which is very chic with beautiful artwork where you can eat and you can just walk through to the shops outside to have a mooch with is perfect. Our check in process was very smooth and efficient. Check out is at 12 and check in is at 2. We had travelled from Chania by taxi. and were a little early. The gentleman on reception was able to find our group a room to check into while they got our other rooms ready which was very helpful and we did not have to wait too long. We had the economy rooms two different types between us. The ones which have balconies and the ones which are inside but don't have a balcony. The latter were a bit bigger than the ones with the balcony and the children's bed has its own little area which we really liked. The bathroom and room were very clean and the cleaners were very helpful and polite. We had a small fridge all the usual amenities you would expect and the air conditioning always worked well. I really feel (being from the UK) that the hotel represents very good value for the price we paid - if we were to pay a similar price in England we would not be staying in nearly such a nice hotel that's for sure. Certainly not one with a pool on the roof! We absolutely loved the roof area. The pool is quite small (but still big enough to have a lovely, cool swim). The pool area is clean and there are sunbeds and chairs you can sit on around the pool and plenty of place to sunbathe. It is absolutely lovely the perfect place to relax and take in the view. They also have a lifeguard up there at all times which we were not expecting. The pool is open until 8 at night but you can still go up to the roof for drinks and to eat your dinner after this time. They also provide towels for you which is great. The bar on the roof is absolutely excellent and the service is impeccable. The bar staff and waiters and waitresses work so hard and are so friendly (whilst also remaining professional). This hotel may be on the corner of 2 narrow streets but incredibly close to town centre. Just walk one block then through a small park and there. Rooms recently renovated and very nice. Breakfast adequate.

There is a double bed and a single bed in the room. Although the space is not large, the furniture is complete: wardrobes, desks are available, the bathroom is not small, and there is a small window for ventilation. We lived in a corner room with a long balcony. Although the room faces the small street, the doors and windows are soundproofed and don't feel noisy at night. Hotel location is not bad, six or seven minutes walk from the Lion Fountain. The front desk is English, warm uncle reception, check-in and check-out procedures are simple and fast. The bus is at the entrance of the hotel. Whether it is the airport or the bus to Iraq Li翁, there is a direct bus stop at the door. Health is OK, there is a hot water bottle. Breakfast is richer than I thought. In short, the price is very good.

Although the room is a bit small, breakfast, health and service are good. The location is also convenient. You can walk to places such as the History Museum. The hot chocolate in the cafe has many varieties and is delicious.

I don’t know who gives hotels in Greece their star ratings, maybe themselves? This hotel is definitely not 4 star! I would give it a 2 at best! It looks nothing like the pictures, it is old and just ugly. The lobby looks like a backpackers lodge, it smells of cigarettes even! The rooms are just old and disgusting. The toilet doesn’t have enough lights and the drain in the shower doesn’t even work properly! How can this be a 4 star hotel honestly??? Will never be coming back!

Le séjour a eu ses hauts et ses bas. D'un côté, le parking s'est avéré dangereux avec une route à traverser où les voitures roulent à vive allure. À l'intérieur, la tablette en marbre de la table de chevet m'a causé des soucis, notamment lorsque je m'y suis cogné deux fois dans la nuit. L'insonorisation de l'appartement laisse également à désirer, vos deux oreilles sont dans le couloir avec les groupes de gens jusqu'à 3h du matin qui rentrent en discutant, et je me levais à 4h pour l'avion... Dommage. Cependant, tout n'était pas négatif. La literie était confortable, et la piscine un vrai plus. De plus, l'emplacement est très pratique, avec une branche d'autoroute à seulement 5 minutes de l'aéroport. L'accueil était également sympathique, ce qui a légèrement adouci les points négatifs.

This was my first time at the amazing Stella Island, and I can honestly say it exceeded all expectations! I had heard so many great things about this place, but nothing could have prepared me for how stunning it truly is. The photos really don’t do it justice—this hotel is something you need to experience firsthand. And the way it transforms from day to night? Simply magical! From the moment we arrived, I felt like I had stepped into paradise. We were warmly greeted by Aris and Nikos, who took such good care of us throughout our stay. Aris has a heart of gold, and it was such a pleasure getting to know him better during our little trips around the hotel. The entire team was incredibly helpful, always there to assist us with our moves and daily routines. I can’t thank them enough for their kindness and care! The reception team was equally wonderful, always smiling and so welcoming. Every interaction with them was lovely—efficient, friendly, and always ready to help. It’s a great feeling when you’re remembered and treated like family. We stayed in a room with a Premium Pool View near the Makuti side, and it was perfect! Spacious, spotless, and with the most comfortable beds. Makuti was our go-to spot for sunbathing, and the team there made every day special. Rania and her team were a joy to be around—her attention to detail is unmatched, and I loved catching up with her. George, with his calming presence, and Yannis made sure we were never without one of their amazing cocktails. And let’s not forget Yanni, who was always around, making sure everything was perfect. The drinks and food there were excellent! The food overall was exceptional—definitely a highlight of the trip! Lunch at the buffet was great, and the fish lunch at Vegera was top-notch. But La Parilla stole the show for both lunch and dinner. The meals were incredible, and the service was just as amazing. Johanna’s team is truly the best. Eleni, George, and Emerlito made every meal special, with their warm energy and flawless service. Kostis, the bartender, kept the good vibes going with his stories and perfect cocktails. Our evenings at Paraiso were a blast, too! Antonis and Sofia made the best cocktails—Sofia’s margaritas are to die for, and Antonis’ Margaritas are next level! Maria, Katerina, and Xaris were also a delight—super attentive and always ready with a smile. The entertainment was top-tier, the shows blew me away this year. Breakfast was another daily highlight, with a tough decision to make every morning between the buffet and La Parilla. Special shoutout to the lovely lady at the buffet and Lenti at La Parilla for starting our mornings off with great service and friendly faces. A massive thank you to Anastacia and Marina for taking such good care of us. And of course, a huge thanks to George and Christos for making us feel like part of the Stella Island family.
