The hotel is by the sea and full of history. It is a good choice for a day trip to Sri Lanka. It is about 30 minutes by car from the airport. We stayed in a waterfront suite. The master bedroom was very large, but the second bedroom was too small.

Incredible accommodations! Beautifully laid out around gardens with a stream running through it. Staff is amazing, helpful and kind. Meals served at different locations with great views. Highly recommend! Hotel store has one of a kind handmade tapestries, wish I bought more.🥰

A magical hotel - beautiful, characterful building with a Venice like courtyard, lovely views over the lagoon and 2 pools! We loved the private, exclusive feel - more like staying in a friend’s house than a hotel. The staff and food were also great, and it was so convenient for the airport. A perfect first or last night stay, although we could have had longer!

Eigenlijk kwamen we hier alleen maar voor onze laatste overnachting voordat we zouden terugvliegen naar huis. Dat was wel erg jammer, want Villa Hundira is een fantastische plek, met alles erop en eraan. Mooiste kamer van onze rondreis door Sri Lanka. Alle 'Uitstekend'-beoordelingen kan ik beamen. Enig minpuntje is dat er af en toe een vliegtuig overvliegt ;-)

The people are the friendliest people I have ever met and the food is delicious with a wide range of options. The area is very spacious with two pools and a great scenery with lots of places to relax. The massage was a really nice experience of pure relaxation and the place was so lovely and enjoyable to stay that we stayed another night.

Heerlijk verblijf, goede service door lief personeel met mooie ruime kamers. Het verblijf ligt aan de lagoon in Negombo. De hogere prijs is het zeker waard. Tijdens schoonmaak werd een defect in de badkamer ontdekt en dit werd meteen adequaat opgelost. Het verblijf heeft twee zwembaden en een kleine shop om een leuk aandenken aan Sri Lanka te kopen. Reny en staff, nogmaals dank voor jullie gastvrijheid!

Weekend getaway with a short school vacation. We started our trip at this beautiful boutique villa facing Negombo Lagoon. It is our second time here, and they made a lot of improvements over the last decade. The villa is a lovely colonial style space with hidden corners, pools and a small bar area by the lagoon. Our room was the lagoon suite with a stunning view. My kids had a blast watching planes land and take off all day since right under the flight path. The foods were awesome. The rooms are cozy and decorated with quilts made by local women. The beds were very compact. There are plenty of peaceful spots to relax, and two nice pools. They even have a kids’ play room. The staff were excellent. The location is convenient just 20-30 minutes from the airport. This hidden gem is perfect for a stopover before or after a flight.

Wij arriveerden met ons gezin van 5 midden in de nacht (3.50u) in dit hotel na een lange vlucht, en desondanks stond een heel welkomstcomité ons op te wachten om ons te verwelkomen, onze kamers te tonen, enz. Wat een leuke binnenkomer in een ver, nieuw land! (We bleven hier na die eerste 'halve' nacht trouwens nog een t****e nacht.) Het hotel heeft iets van een koloniaal plantagedomein met allemaal lage gebouwtjes, de kamers zijn ruim en alles wat je mag verwachten is er. Er zijn twee zwembaden en veel waterpartijen (het hotel ligt vlak aan de Negombo Lagoon en kijkt er van aan het zwembad ook op uit. Wat erg fijn is, is dat de gasten niet samen in één ruimte eten, maar dat iedereen eigen hoekjes en eigen staf toegewezen krijgt bij de maaltijd. Zeer gezellig! Het personeel is overigens erg vriendelijk en, toch niet onbelangrijk: het eten is uitstekend! Wat ons betreft een echte aanrader als startpunt voor een trip doorheen dit prachtige land!

L’hotel est une maison de plein pied, remplie de coins et de recoins, de piscines et de bassins, construite au bord de la lagune, qui traverse la propriété. Il y a peu de chambre ce qui donne une atmosphere intime. La decoration est magnifique, l’accueil amical et professionnel. Et surtout la cuisine maison est bonne, ce qui est rare au Sri Lanka. Seul mini bemol : les avions qui passent non loin et la literie qui n’est pas très bonne. Mais cela se fait oublier. Idéal pour un dernier jour de repos avant de repartir car à 30 minutes de l aéroport.
