Peppers Blue on Blue Reviews

First time staying on Magnetic Island and was excited to stay somewhere central. I was lucky enough to be upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment. Unfortunately, these rooms look out over the carpark/marina which is extremely loud from around 5:30am with garbage trucks and other vehicles. The room had paper-thin blinds so the sun poured in from this time. The room was very worn out and seems as though it has never received a refresh. Most of the furniture and furnishings are broken or damaged. The outdoor areas of the hotel are actually really nice and well maintained, including the huge lagoon pool. This hotel as so much potential - it's just a shame that the 'Peppers' brand is not maintained and the rooms do not have the same 'Peppers' standards as other properties. The buffet breakfast is. fine, but certainly nothing to get excited about. It's disappointing that barista coffee (or at least machine coffee) is not included. Unbeknown to us, the restaurant was actually closed on the Friday and Saturday night that we were staying there due to hosting a wedding. A small limited set menu was available, but for $60 per person not worth it. A positive mention needs to go to the staff here - the front desk staff were all very friendly and helpful - a massive asset to this hotel!
