Despite the website description, this hotel did not feel “new” at all. The public areas and elevator were not clean, the window shade would not raise and the air conditioning unit was very noisy. The bathroom should have been cleaner. We have stayed at other HIX locations that were not like this.

Staff at front desk were okay but not over welcoming. Hotel room was nice. Beds were very comfy. Pool was extremely cold, had a smell to it, very gross scum around the edge of the entire pool and no towels. Breakfast was okay- pancake maker was broke most of the time, they would make it work for one and then would quit again. Entire time there the juice was out and needed a refill, tables never got wiped down- breakfast area needed attention.

The crew is working hard on Reno of this hotel. Many areas and finishes are just stunning. The service at the desk was great and Michelle did a fantastic job of keeping the breakfast bar clean and stocked. She was right there to wipe down tables for the next guests and made sure everyone had whatever they needed. She also had helpful advice for our visit. The only downside I noticed in the bathroom even though the tile and countertop looked new; the sink drain was very slow and also the shower. We put a hand towel in the bathtub to take a shower because it was extremely slippery! Looks like it has been refinished and is a real hazard! Not sure if the bathroom remodel is complete because the paint although it looked fairly fresh it was showing cracks and orange peeling. There was also black (mold or dirt) on the upper wall behind the door by the shower. Overall the stay was great, comfortable beds, an assortment of pillows to choose from (some of the towels seemed to have stains) no bugs in sight and quite even though there were youth baseball teams in residence. Once again I have to give credit to the breakfast team for keeping up.

Very nice hotel, rooms are neat and clean. Staff is awesome! They are super friendly and extremely willing to help. They went out of their way. I would stay there again just because of the people. Breakfast was good, typical breakfast offerings but very fresh and well cooked. If you are near the area definitely stay there. Close to the downtown area with plenty of restaurants.

We stayed here Saturday night after the derby ended, and was incredibly pleased with how quick and easy check-in was. The room was incredibly clean and nicely updated. Our king bed was comfortable, and the pillows were larger and fluffier than most hotels we’ve stayed at. The breakfast buffet had a good selection and was better than most hotels post Covid. The only negative aspect of the stay was that the people in the connecting room tried to come through the separating doors early the next morning. This had more to do with rude, neighboring guest, then competence of the hotel. I especially appreciated that the location of the hotel itself was quiet and not too busy area.

Beds were comfortable. Cleaning service lacking, after saying they would change towels and take trash, they never showed up. Keys never worked had to get them redone every day. Breakfast was good but missed not having the cinnamon rolls.

I will start with the staff... Everyone was GREAT! But, I have to give a HUGE shout out to Ashley. She saved us! We were stranded at a restaurant in a very undesirable area and could not get an Uber, Lyft, or taxi. Ashley came through and found us a driver and he arrived in 30 minutes. If it weren't for her we may still be waiting 😁. Room was as to be expected, breakfast was great and the pool looked awesome.

The hotel was wonderful! It has some recent updates and looks great. They are painting/sanding walls- meaning the carpet may appear dirty but they sweep it up. It was very family friendly and the staff was helpful. When we arrived we were greeted. The beds were comfortable and clean rooms. The breakfast was hot and stocked full of choices!
