Trident Inn & Suites New Orleans

Upon checking into the hotel, there was a weird smell through the corridor. Once inside the room, there was what looked like smeared feces on the wall, so I requested to be moved to a new room. The new room was more pleasing on the eyes but had its own set of problems. The headboards were dirty, handprints all on it, there were stains all over the walls. The bathroom tub looked disgusting. There was rust in the tub, and the wall is peeling. I requested extra towels from the front desk, some rude lady with pink hair, she fussed and said we weren’t allowed to have more than 2 sets. Even after explaining to her I was using them in the tub to keep the rust away from everyone. Not to mention last night around 11pm some weird man started banging on the bedroom door claiming to be the hotel owner looking for a cart that was in our room blocking the adjoining room door that wouldn’t lock closed.. he even said he would throw my family and myself out the hotel if we didn’t open the door. Definitely will never be back. After yelling at me I told him his worries are on the wrong thing. Our room was horrible and he didn’t do anything to try to fix it. It’s disgusting and I really deserve my money back for this disgusting stay. I tossed and turned all night. Couldn’t even trust sleeping under the covers. Not to mention the microwave in the rooms both looked like this. Had to eat our leftovers cold because of how nasty it looks.

The place was dirty the staff attempted to change my room but all the rooms especially bathrooms were dirty.

The fitness suite has nothing that works. All of the equipment was old and broken so unusable, literally not a single piece of equipment works in the room. The maid service was very minimal, they didn’t even take out/clean the bins even though we were there for multiple days. It was a good price and mostly clean (minus the massive dead cockroach that we found that the maid wouldn’t clean).

Do yourself a favor and avoid this place like the plague. 20 minutes waiting for somebody to come to the front desk to check in. Get to the room and they haven't paid their COX cable bill, so no TV. Try to turn on the lights, and because they purchased cheap lightbulbs and put them in dimmable lights. Only one light works, the others just flash. Had only planned to stay there to get some quick sleep, so really could care less about all of that. Went to bed at 9 o'clock, so could get up at 5 am to hit the road. 10 PM fire alarm goes off in the hotel and wakes us up out of a dead sleep. Try to get back to sleep, fire alarm again at 11:55 PM, then again at 12:35 AM. Got zero sleep that night. Went to take a shower the next morning and water is pouring out of the ceiling over the shower. Go to report these issues to the front desk, again wait 10 minutes before somebody shows up to the desk. Contacted ******* regarding this, and they said they would reach out to the hotel. Get a message from ******* that the hotel declined to do anything about it. Then they have the nerve to send me an email saying hope you enjoyed your stay.Do yourself a favor. This hotel was just purchased to do the bare minimum and extract money from people. When you have major issues, including getting zero sleep and most likely having slept in a room full of mold, thanks to the water pouring out of the ceiling, they refuse to do anything.This hotel should be shut down. Contacting health inspector. Hotel responded to my ******* review claiming I never reported the issues to the hotel - LIE, , said TV just needed reboot which was tried -LIE, said no active leak out of ceiling, despite being provided videos of it happening -LIE, said alarm was from someone smoking in room, was told at 10:00 they were being kicked out, so why did it hasten again at 11:45 and 12:35... you obviously didn't care about the safety of your guests or that person who jeopardized all our lives would have been ejected -LIE. I understand this is just a money suck, like all the countless perpetuates your family probably owns, so you really don't care. But stop slandering your guests when they report real issues. It's truly disgusting!

Property was in a less than desirable area and the maintenance on the property was poor. The breakfast was not appealing. Overall not the greatest but the price was good and the bed was comfortable. The staff was very helpful during our visit.

Breakfast could’ve been better than what it was if you have bagels, you should have some form of cream cheese

Hotel is very dated furniture/carpet wise, our room smelt horrible, I had to buy air freshener. The air-conditioning was very very noisy & mouldy in the vents defo need a good clean or replacing. Breakfast had no real choices, waffles or cereal nothing for my friend who needs gluten free. Miles from anywhere, Ubers to get to places like Canal Street/ Bourbon Street cost between $18-$40 each way. Told there were no buses by hotel staff but if you walk towards the industrial area for around 20mins you can get buses for $1.25c.
