Hotel Peter and Paul, an Ash Hotel

This is the cutest hotel! The room was absolutely adorable, and a handwritten note and fan were waiting for me on arrival. Having a parking lot is so handy in a city like New Orleans, and there were plenty of spaces when I arrived, as well as charging stations. The staff members were all super friendly and helpful. It’s in a more residential area, which I liked for the quiet but didn’t like as much at night because it made me not want to go out.  Also, their bath products smell incredible!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Hôtel Peter and Paul in New Orleans and overall, it was a delightful experience. The interior of the hotel exudes a captivating charm, blending historic architecture with modern comfort seamlessly. The attention to detail in the design adds a unique touch to the ambiance. The service at Hôtel Peter and Paul was exceptional, with a staff that was attentive and friendly. They went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Whether it was providing local recommendations or promptly addressing any concerns, the staff's dedication to guest satisfaction was evident. While the overall experience was positive, I did encounter a minor hiccup with the housekeeping service. It wasn't as thorough as I would have expected, and some details were overlooked. However, this didn't overshadow the other positive aspects of the stay. In conclusion, Hôtel Peter and Paul offers a charming and unique retreat in the heart of New Orleans. The impressive interior and outstanding service make it a memorable choice for those seeking a distinctive and comfortable stay in this vibrant city.

I want to preface this by saying we are not difficult guests. We are not people who complain. This was our third stay at Hotel Peter & Paul, always booking two rooms. We have recommended this property to friends. We came back because we genuinely loved what this place represented. What happened on this trip has ensured we will never return, and that we will make certain others know exactly what to expect. Check-In: 90 Minutes Late, Zero Accountability We arrived having traveled through the night. We waited over an hour and a half to check into our rooms. Not one apology. Not one explanation. Not a glass of water, not a kind word, nothing offered to acknowledge the inconvenience to two exhausted guests. We had to request a room change for our daughter ourselves — the thought of offering a solution apparently never occurred to anyone on staff. Housekeeping: A Daily Battle For all five nights of our stay, housekeeping had to be requested every single day. It never came on its own. At a Michelin-recognized boutique property, guests should not have to hunt down basic daily service. This was consistent and relentless throughout the entire stay. The Checkout Morning Incident This is the part that I am documenting carefully, because it needs to be on record. I had confirmed a late checkout of 12:00 PM at the front desk. At 11:00 AM, a housekeeper entered our room without warning. My husband was undressed, preparing to shower. I calmly informed her that we had a confirmed late checkout. Instead of apologizing for walking in unannounced, she became immediately confrontational — raising her voice, insisting the late checkout had not been confirmed. My husband said nothing. He closed the bathroom door and got in the shower. What happened next is something I have never witnessed at any hotel in my life. This employee stood in the hallway and screamed — loudly, at a volume audible to the entire floor — using profane and degrading language directed at my husband by name. Unprovoked. He had done nothing but close a door. When he came out of the room to address the situation calmly, a male staff member arrived — not to apologize, not to de-escalate, but to yell at and threaten my husband. He was told how to “behave” and “act” as though he were the problem. My husband was threatened by hotel staff while in his own room during confirmed late checkout hours. Management: The Final Insult We went directly to the manager to report what had happened. We were two loyal, returning guests describing a threatening and hostile encounter with her employees. Her response was to tell us not to use profanity with her — we had not used any — and to dismiss us without hearing a single word of what we came to say. She did not ask what happened. She did not acknowledge us. She shut us down entirely and made clear that she had no interest in what we had experienced. I love the idea of this hotel and the location – close to the French Quarter but definitely not in it – can’t be beat. The people who work there couldn’t be more welcoming. That said, neither the hotel nor the restaurant were the wow I expected. One tip: ask for a room that’s not on the first floor, as it was a little disconcerting to open the shades of our window to find we were directly facing the sidewalk and random people walking by.

Hotel Peter and Paul is working to become the best and coolest hotel in New Orleans. The rooms are clean and well appointed and the well-trained and managed staff presents to guests an atmosphere that is efficient, relaxed and friendly. After just a day I felt I was home. Its location in the Faubourg Marigny neighborhood near the South 7th Ward between the French Quarter and Bywater is perfect for exploring the city's best bars and restaurants. And speaking of those, the restaurant and bar at Hotel Peter and Paul are not to be missed, fun times and great food. I highly recommend this hotel. Aces across the board.

What a perfect way to experience New Orleans, even for a local it was a lovely staycation, and our room was so comfortable and spacious. Will definitely return.
