Lovely stay. Tasty breakfast

Great greeting from the staff, escorted us to our table, took our drinks order, brought the drinks and took our food order. Drinks obviously good and the food better, we had the two course lunch for £13 which consisted of garlic mushrooms, prawn cocktails and loaded skins. Mains were lasagne, chicken cesear salad and gammon with pineapple and fried egg. All beautifully cooked and presented by very attentive staff. A terrific lunch thank you

Booked 4 rooms for myself and extended family for a wedding nearby. The owners couldn’t have been anymore hospitable if they tried. I called in the morning to see if we could get into one room to get changed and set a travel cot up - this was all sorted and they managed to get us 2 rooms ready so we could offload all our bags. Was really appreciated by us. The rooms are quite dated but they were very clean and had good extras (hairdryer, mini fridge, fan) Beds were comfy and towels were huge and fluffy. With breakfast included, that was the icing on the cake - it was hot, delicious and used great quality ingredients. If I was going to come back to Romney I would definitely come back to this hotel- thanks guys!

Perfect, a Monday evening so not loud or crowded. Sat in a nice quiet corner to celebrate a birthday with a meal (3 people). The barman greeted us, looked after us, was fully attentive, happy all the time and very polite. He took our order, served our order. He was absolutely lovely. The food was EXCELLENT and served very hot. Very tasty and if you like fat chips they were cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend the meals. The decor is ambient and old. A lovely experience.

We were riding the Cantii Way and one of our stops was in New Romney. The staff are very helpful and provided secure storage for our bikes. The food was very good and they cater well for vegetarians. We were really impressed with the excellent breakfast. The owners have only recently taken it over and I think from our brief visit they are going to be a great success.

My husband and myself had the most wonderful 4 nights stay at The Ship Hotel from checking in to the morning we left we couldn't fault anything. The owners Pete & Georgia & little Alfie were so welcoming friendly and couldn't do enough for us,it was totally relaxing a lovely pub to either have a drink or a meal we couldn't fault it. The staff work non stop but again so welcoming and friendly nothing was too much trouble for them the whole place had a lovely ambience. Our room was good, clean shower clean everywhere and it smelt fresh and so did the towels. We are looking to move back to Kent from West Wales and can't wait to go back and stay again at The Ship Hotel whilst looking for a property but more so moving down there so we can make this a regular place to eat and have a drink. I’ve visited a couple of times recently, once to eat & others for drinks only. Plenty of outside seating for drinks and a cosy area towards the back; reasonably priced drinks. Food wise; I ordered steak medium rare, it was more well done than I would have liked but ok, no check back during my meal. Chips & veg were fine. Starter didn’t arrive, straight into mains & no mention. Would recommend for a quiet drink only

Very comfortable friendly Hotel, well presented and tasty Dinner and Breakfast.

The room was tiny. 1/6th of floor space taken up with an enormous built in wardrobe. Because of the slope of the roof, I couldn’t stand up to go to the toilet, for the same reason the shower was impossible to use and it wasn’t possible to sit up in the bed. The bedroom overlooks a busy road. I guess the room price reflects some of this.
