Location was good. Just a 5 min walk to the old street. There’s also a bus stop just outside where you can easily take bus (abt 10 mins) to Ruifang and back. From Ruifang, you can rent a U bike and cycle to Houtong or take train there or to Shifen.
The house and rooms were big, probably because we rented the entire apartment. Had a big living room space.
Only grouse is that the towels provided were too small… they were more like hand towels rather than bath towels.

I contacted the owner before checking in. The owner was very nice and friendly. If I got lost at the station, the owner would come out to greet me personally. I saw people's comments on the owner online that "he treats you like a brother or sister". I immediately decided to book this hotel based on this comment!
The room is very clean and comfortable, and there is a public terrace with a mountain view (I like this very much). It is only a few minutes' walk to the old street. The hotel Xinyu Restaurant recommended by the owner has a discount if you report the name of the homestay, and the dishes are delicious!

It can't be helped that the location isn't the best.
Still, the owner's hospitality was excellent, with breakfast and snacks provided in good condition, and I was very grateful for his kind words and consideration for me, even though I came in bad weather.
