Avid Hotel Brooklyn - Dyker Heights Reviews

My mom had been coming to nyc for the first time and we stayed in avid for 21 nights. I had called 2 weeks earlier and asked the front desk if me and my sisters can check in early before my mom arrived at night (reservation was under her name ) , they said yes you just need to send us an email with your information, which I did. I called again to get the email, they said oh that’s not our policy you need to just come in but we need to charge her for one night. We agreed and instead of charging her for one night they attempted to take the full amount. I called to complain about that and they said oh we apologize our mistake and they took the right amount. When my sisters arrived at the hotel they took my sisters card and charged her the full amount even though I had again called beforehand to make sure if anyone will be charged and they said they would only charge my moms card once she arrived. When I called back and was by now super angry the lady kept pushing back and then she finally said okay we will refund your sister when mom arrives. And then after all that the hotel smelled really bad the rooms didn’t have any wardrobes or cupboards. Breakfast was really bad and the gym was too small. As well as we asked if we can screen cast anything, repeatedly the front desk said “sure we’ll get someone to come up and fix it” he never came and then when he finally came on our last 2 nights he said oh we can’t do screen casting because it doesn’t even work yet. I don’t know that I’ve ever stayed in a hotel with such incompetence and misinformation and mismanagement.

Clean new hotel rooms are a bit small

The location of the hotel is convenient for entry and exit. The front desk staff has a good attitude. The hotel environment is good and breakfast is included. Coffee is available 24 hours a day on the first floor. The room is not large and the sound insulation is average. In the middle of the night, the sound of water and sounds outside the corridor can be heard.

The facilities were really nice. The staff are also very friendly, I was really impressed by the free breakfast and fitness center. Next time I come to New York, I want to come again.

The room is nice. The breakfast provided is also good. The service attitude of the waiters is also good. It is just a little far from the city.

This is our 3rd time here, and I won't go anywhere else. I also recommended the Avid to friends. The guy at the desk named Moe is so cool. He'll bend over backwards to make sure you're happy during your stay. Everyone there is very friendly. We'll be going back next week.

This is a unique little hotel in the heart of Brooklyn. It’s new, clean, modern, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. The room and bathroom are very spacious! Breakfast was very adequate and staff are attending to everything. I am very, very pleased with this booking, and would definitely stay here again. 10/10!!

Enjoyed our stay! The facility is in good condition and very clean. Simple breakfast included, plenty of FREE parking around the hotel, and 5min walk to metro station (R line). Staff is pleasant but reduced a star because they are not very knowledgeable about general tourist attractions.

My husband and I came into the city for dinner and decided to stay here. Glad we did because the aesthetic was beautiful we were able to grab a parking pass and park in the garage so that was great also

Stayed here for a week. 1. Its a new building and very clean. I hope they keep it this way. 2. Near bus stops and a few blocks away from the subway station. 3. They kept towels stocked and trash emptied. 4. They cleaned the toilet well but didnt clean the shower. 5. Breakfast was made available if you need that kind of thing. I would go back again provided they can maintain the nice building and clean rooms.

I like the area . I lived close by for over 30 years so I was comfortable with staying there . We had a flight at JFK at 8 am and needed to stay close . We parked in the street for free . No issues . Got bagels and a sandwich for flight at dyker bagels right across the street . Worked at great . Would stay again
