Hotel 38 New York City, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

The room is tiny, tiny, tiny. So please set your expectations accordingly. The location is unbeatable, perfect for sightseeing. We stayed for six days and walked everywhere. There's a delicious Korean restaurant on 35th Street if you're craving some good food – just search for it on Xiaohongshu. Don't expect much in terms of service; that's another thing to be aware of. It's nothing like a Hilton. But the location really is fantastic. Plus, there's a huge backyard behind the hotel, open 24/7 to guests, which was a pleasant surprise. It's great for grabbing some drinks and having a chat.

Booked this hotel for a concert, and the location was absolutely perfect. I didn't even need to take the subway; Madison Square Garden was within walking distance. The area around the hotel felt very safe, and it was easy to find.

In such a prime location, the room was very small, featuring a bunk bed setup (like a twin over twin in China), but it was very clean and tidy. Three people could barely move without bumping into each other. This really isn't what I expect from a Hilton. If you want hot water, you have to ask at the front desk bar, but the service was excellent! There's ice and room-temperature water in the basement. The door closing mechanism was very unique! The room-temperature water dispenser is right next to the ice machine, which is different from the ice machines at Woburn. Standard amenities include an ice bucket, but it's hard to satisfy a 'Chinese stomach' without a kettle. Guess I'll just have to make do with alcohol.
