Fairfield Inn & Suites New York Staten Island

I've been staying here for a while now. It's relatively quiet as there aren't many guests. However, the hotel is a bit old. The breakfast is just average, and the selection isn't as extensive as it used to be. The bed in my room this time was too soft and uncomfortable. Plus, the bed frame is quite large, making it easy to bump your leg when getting out.

The hotel facilities are a bit dated, but still clean and tidy, and the service was good. Breakfast was nutritious enough, with eggs, milk, bread, hash browns, fruit, and more, plus you could even make your own chocolate waffles. There's a shuttle to the ferry terminal, where you can catch a free ferry to Whitehall Station in Manhattan, which is super convenient. I asked at the front desk, and it seems there are only two or four free shuttle services a day (I can't quite remember), with all other times requiring a fee. If you're driving, there are several parking lots at the Staten Island ferry terminal, costing $28 for 24 hours. All in all, this is a hotel with good value for money, and parking is free here.

This motel suited us very well because there was a large shopping center nearby, a 10-minute drive away. If you don't have a car, it would probably be difficult, as there are private houses around. Although there is public transportation. The hotel has a washing machine and dryer.

Breakfast was just okay, and the surroundings were quite desolate. The front desk staff was good, but the shuttle service was unreliable. Housekeeping was decent.
