Service was excellent befitting of a five star hotel. The letdown was breakfast service. There was a clear lack of staff in the dining room and an average menu.

I originally chose Mandarin Oriental New York because I am a member of Mandarin Oriental, but I was disappointed. It is much different from the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Hong Kong, both in terms of facilities and services. Apart from the fact that the price is more than 50% more expensive than the surrounding five-star hotels, the Mandarin Oriental in New York has no other attractive features.
