I stayed at the Maypole in Wellow last week, with my husband. The rooms were beautiful and, given the price, represented outstanding value for money. We love nature and the hotel is really well placed to enjoy walks at the RSPB reserve at Budby Common, Sherwood Forest as well as Rufford Abbey. Morgan and Julie and the rest of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We enjoyed a drink outside in the sun, on the terrace. My husband enjoyed locally made Sting Cider. The food in the restaurant was excellent. We ordered from the a la carte menu, however, the bar menu for lunch was also superb. Overall, a beautiful boutique hotel in the village centre, perfectly located for countryside walks, friendly service and outstanding value for money.
