The hosts were friendly and helpful. The bar and restaurant was quaint and cosy. The open fire was ablaze as we sat and had our evening meal. The food was superb. Recommend the Duck and Port parfait. We stayed in room number 1 which was a bit noisy from the early hours. I understand that this is an old property (with some modernisation) but I could hear traffic from the road outside, snoring from the room above along with their alarm vibrating at 6.15am. Also this room states a "countryside view", certainly not from our window. A huge marquee and a fence panel was what I could see.

We went for a late lunch on a Friday after viewing the snowdrops at Welford Park (just down the road). Luckily we had booked, as the pub was completely full. There was an excellent value two course "Snowdrops Menu", but with the generous portions for the main course none of us found room for a pudding (even the crumble!). Tasty and well-cooked food. There was a slight delay as might be expected from the crowd, but nothing untoward and the waitress kept us informed.

Great budget stay We arrived in the evening, spoke to the helpful staff that showed us around the property and all its enemies. Overall a really good location and atmosphere, will happily stay there again.
