We didn’t stay to eat as it was £7.50 to park before we even entered the premises. 3 other cars also turned away. The £7.50 may well of been deducted from the bill, but it wasn’t at all clear to us or the other cars. Shame as this used to be a beautiful venue.

The hotel and room were lovely, the chap in the spa was very helpful as were the reception staff, the issues we had revolved around the service. They seemed to be plenty staff behind the bar but not a lot happening, breakfast was the biggest issue! we were seated and asked what we wanted to drink, fine, 45 minutes later I had to flag someone’s attention to take our order and we weren’t the only table waiting, there was a couple in when we arrived, we thought they had eaten but it turned out they were also waiting, for how long I don’t know. This happened both mornings, the second morning, being a Monday, was quiet but we still had a lengthy wait. On a positive note, the food we had, especially the steak, if a little pricey at £42 was excellent, staff were very friendly but I feel they need a little bit more management to get a higher level of productivity. We heard the phrase “sorry for your wait” quite a few times.

Lovely afternoon tea with friendly staff and nice relaxed atmosphere. Really good treatment. Would suggest supplying spa slippers ir advising customers to bring their own as felt these were needed. Also floors very wet and slippy in changing rooms and spa. Just needs a little if attention when busy to keep it tidy. Overall enjoyed time though

Beautiful hotel and nests, however, no mirror on top floor or hair dryer. Felt like it could’ve been slightly cleaner but that’s clutching at straws. Some cups and pans were not clean so had to re-wash before using. Also windows and doors need fixing

We attended the spa party on 28/6/2024 and it was absolutely brilliant from start to finish! The DJ was great, drinks lovely, the staff were friendly and kept everything running smoothly. We had a ‘swanderful’ time and would definitely recommend! 10/10! Thanks to all the organisers :)

The setting is perfect. A great place for those with a car to access lots of different spots in the lakes. We stayed for our 8th anniversary as a treat and it was our first time here. We arrived on the Sunday evening and check-in was very smooth. We booked an accessible room and it was really nice. It was very warm, but we set the A/C to the lowest temp and when we came back to sleep it was nice and cool. Our roller blind was broken (it had come off its runner). The bathroom was very well appointed but just needs a little extra cleaning around the edges where there’s some black marks. The light that comes on when it’s dark and you go for a wee in the night is brilliant and the toiletries were lovely. The view from our window was bizarre. We were just above the outdoor pool, looking into the roof and it was full of weeds. If they’d just clear that it would be a much nicer room. The bed was huge (if a little high). It was very comfortable. The TV was great, you can just log into your own streaming service accounts and watch whatever you watch at home. We spent a wonderful evening by the river drinking Erdinger and only came inside as it cooled around 8:30pm. When we did we were peckish so had a cheeseboard which, honestly, a week later, I’m still thinking about. It was outstanding. In the morning we had breakfast in our room. It was excellent. Really lovely peppery sausages, lots of mushrooms, a pot of tea and some orange juice. The only thing very obviously missing was a slice of toast to dip in my egg. Before leaving we enjoyed the thermal spa. It was such a relaxing couple of hours. The changing rooms are small but very well equipped with GHD dryers and straighteners. The woman who was serving drinks in the spa was stand out. Her customer service was perfect and she was very welcoming. We really enjoyed the outdoor sauna and ice water afterwards. The hydrotherapy pool was very soothing. I’d recommend The Swan to anyone. It was an idyllic stay and we can’t wait to go back.

It was a nice stay and friendly staff. Unfortunately air conditioning wasn’t working so the rooms are quite warm at night. Also noticed quite a bit of dust on the bathroom floors and this is why I haven’t given a 5 star review. The food was outstanding (with lots of GF options) and thermal spa was really nice. We didn’t originally book on for the thermal spa as we felt the gym/pool facilities would be bigger, but decided on arrival to just treat ourselves to the thermal spa.

My husband and I recently visited the Swan Hotel and had a lovely time. We stayed in one of their Splendid Suites - the room was spacious and clean and the roll-top bath in the bathroom was lovely. There was no noise during the night and the bed was very comfy. The hotel is great in terms of location. It has beautiful surroundings and there is a nice walk (about 20 mins) to the Lakeside where you can go to the aquarium, hop on the steam train or get the ferry. One night we went to the Gilpin Hotel which was a 20 min drive away and ate at their 1 Michelin-star restaurant SOURCE which was very good. With our Suite we received a spa session per night stayed but you have to book in advance. We loved the spa and its staff were fantastic, very friendly and attentive. We went on a Thursday afternoon and Friday lunchtime and it was not too busy at either time. Reception staff at the hotel were also very polite and helpful. The breakfast is nice and we ate at the brasserie restaurant one night and it was good with big portions. We preferred the pub which had a larger, cheaper menu - you pretty much sit in the same area for both anyway, the brasserie is just tucked behind the pub area with nicer seats and tables. We would definitely recommend the hotel for a relaxing break.
