We were disappointed in our stay. When we booked, we specifically selected ”water view” and the room was advertised as having 2 ”queen” beds. Although perhaps both were technically true, we certainly felt ripped off. The view we had was actually into the atrium where you could technically see the water through a window all the way across the atrium - a couple hundred feet away. The beds may have been bigger than full but were at least 6” less than a typical 60” wide queen. Since we paid extra for the view we didn't feel it was worth the price. The room out of that context was nice, but it had no complementary bottled water or coffee and at checkout we were told that was due to Covid somehow which made no sense to us. The walls were also pretty thin and it felt like someone was flushing the toiled right next to me while I was in bed. Overall it was clean and the staff was friendly but it was not what we expected for $700/night.

On a New England road trip we picked this Hotel because of the brand, Big mistake. First don't try ordering room service breakfast, we tried and ended up having to go to the kitchen and get it-to find out they hadn't even made it yet, a hour after we expected it to be brought to our room. They had one person working the dining room and the room service. Finally they gave my husband a bag with our breakfast which was cold and overcooked. Horrible. They are very big on the no smoking/vaping with signs all over the place with the threat of a $250 fine for cleaning if you are caught and (fyi I have friends that vape-there is no smell, no ashes and no mess so don't understand that threat, sounds like another money grab to me)-however there was a very noticeable stench of cigarette smoke after I got off elevator-which I assume was embedded in the hallway carpets. I am an ex-smoker and understand the non smoking thing, but that is the least of their problems. The front desk people have no personalities and seemed uncomfortable with their jobs. NO one to help with the luggage, the room service should not be offered if they can't handle it, there is no luggage rack in the room to put your suitcases on you have to find one that's hidden in the closet, no room safe, the alarm clock was broken, only used it for the usb port in it as it was the only one in the room that worked, The shower has one stationary half door which causes water to get on the bathroom floor during your shower making the floor slippery, Barely any bathroom amenities other than a miniature bottle of body lotion, tiny bars of soap and some cheap shampoo and conditioner so bring everything you may need. Lights around the bathroom mirror-suck. Had to put my makeup on by the window with my own mirror. The switches for the room lighting are hidden and even if you find them the lighting is dim at best. and since they don't have free morning coffee by the restaurant area that most decent hotels have-we wanted coffee and had to use the room coffee pot-which I usually don't use, so the in room coffee station had 2 regular coffee pods, 1 tea pod and 1 decaf pod and 2 Styrofoam cups, so don't expect more than 1 cup of coffee if you're with a second person, so again bring your own pods. If this is a new hotel-they did a poor planning job. I think that this hotel was a refurb of another hotel and not new. Room cleaning only by request so bring your own sanitizing sprays. We did not use their restaurant, so can't comment on that. There is a fridge and microwave in the room. As with all hotels lately-they need to hire more cleaning people, room service and apparently kitchen help. None of the outside doors have key pad entry requirements so anyone can walk in anywhere and go unnoticed. Too much work, lack of help and normal amenities we won't be going back there again. I guess it would be okay for a single man traveling for business for one night.

Clean rooms, easy location, good (typical hotel) breakfast, helpful and kind staff. My daughter and I have a hard time finding hotels where we are really comfortable. This Hampton Inn was what we needed - it was clean and comfy. We slept great, enjoyed breakfast and were able to relax in our room. We were in 225 & didn’t hear road noise or noise from other rooms. It is nice that the bathroom fan is linked with the less bright bathroom light and the fan on the ac unit can be adjusted to stay on - definitely helped drown out any extra noise. Only downside - the evening cookies are not replenished during the week :)

There is a supermarket around the hotel with an ATM and a Qing Tao Chinese food. Love Place, Politely and good service with satffs here, I will back to stay next time.

Outstanding
GGuest UserHad a lovely 1 night stay at the Ivy Lodge. The entranceway and staircase are amazing. Lovely woodwork and features. We stayed in the Pine room which was a nicely decorated cosy room. Lovely deep tub and good shower. Excellent facilities with things provided such as toiletries, coffee, tea, hot chocolate making facilities and cookies and brownies left out for guests. The welcome we received upon arrival and from the chef were warm and friendly. Breakfast was delicious - home made yoghurt with granola, scrambled eggs with ricotta cheese and a side of bacon plus cinnamon raisin toast to follow. The location was ideal for restaurants, a peak at some mansions and the cliff top walk - all well within walking distance.
Excellent stay at the Outlook Inn in Newport. Very nice, clean, quiet and cosy room, perfect bathroom with great shower, easy check-in and cherry on the cake the opportunity to park the car within walking distance still downtown Newport. The bed was extremely comfortable with perfect pillows. The breakfast was a real delight with a full variety to choose from served on the top floor by very kind and dedicated staff that prepared our meal on site. I would recommend 150% to every travellor to Newport to stay there. The only ”minus” was the fact that there were no plugs to recharge the cell phones on the night table next to the bed but only at the opposite site of the bed. Also the TV Channels were limited to many local TV , Sports channels and FOX TV. CNN, BBC world etc were missing, which is more of interest for international travellers like us from Belgium.
Booked a last-minute beach cottage getaway and couldn’t have had a more relaxing or better escape. Beautiful waterfront cottage, breathtaking views and treated like royalty by everyone we encountered. No lunch reservations on arrival when they’re fully booked? No problem if you’re an overnight guest, as they’ll escort you to a premium table in the patio section reserved for hotel guests. Want breakfast on the deck of your cottage? It’s delivered piping hot precisely when you requested. Want to relax on their private beach? A friendly attendant sets up your covered lounge chairs, side table, umbrella and towels exactly where you want them, and brings you water and frozen grapes. Want to slip into town for a bite or shopping? Hop on the launch at their marina, and the captain will point out key sites along the way. Lunch and breakfast offerings were interesting and well-presented. If you can, make time for the included afternoon tea with freshly baked treats and tea sandwiches served in a cozy wood-panelled room off the lobby. Thoughtful amenities in the cottage included a dimmable light, umbrellas, heated bathroom floor, a deep soaking tub, a charging station, a small refrigerator stocked with free water (plus a split of champagne, wine, etc. for purchase), etc., and there’s turndown service with chocolates. Storage for clothing was rather limited if you’re planning an extended stay, but no problem for us. We come to Newport often so spent virtually all our time at Castle Hill. Loved every minute and will return.
GGuest UserMy family and I had a wonderful stay at the Vanderbilt. I only regret that we did don’t stay longer. We loved how the hotel and our room was decorated. The staff were all wonderful, especially Elizabeth. Going above and beyond to accommodate my family and make us feel special and taken care of. If we come back to Newport we would definitely return to the Vanderbilt. Thank you for a wonderful stay
Oorq29ygbn7The location was great! We were right in the middle of everything and there was plenty of parking at the hotel! We were very disappointed when we came back to change for dinner, and our rooms were not cleaned! This happened to a lot of people on our floor! When we complained about this we were told that the maids come by at 8am and if you have “do not disturb “ on your door they bypass your room and don’t come back! We were out of the room by 9 am so they had plenty of time to come back! We were refunded the $75 amenity fee, but for the price of the rooms they need to clean them! Also, the bathroom was small and a little dirty!
