A brief locals offer, using their 'heated' pool and sun lounger space. Dirty tables & seating areas. Pool was certainly not heated. Too cold to stay in for the little one. Overcrowded, despite me having to book in advance. Photos are incredibly deceiving.

Oh dear, what was supposed to be a memorable holiday turned into a disaster. we decided to take our Three grandchildren to Pine Lodge as a summer holiday. Holidays don't come cheap to Cornwall, but I lived at this hotel as a child with my parents and Three sisters 40 years ago,so wanted it to be amazing memories but it was anything But!!! We arrived into our Annexe room which is adjourning to the hotel, we walked into what I could only describe as a old nursing home entrance/hallway the children instantly said wow what is that smell, it was Damp!! We opened our bedroom door and honestly the smell hit us, it was absolutely disgusting, the curtains reminded us from something from the film "Sound of music" that Maria made into play clothes for the children!!!but was filthy, dusty, and smelt of damp!! The headboard was covered in thick dust, my husband killed a spider in the shower, then pulled a big clump of hair from the plughole. I immediately wanted to leave but it was 9pm,my husband stayed with the children while I went to reception, the woman behind the desk instantly said I could have a refund transferred to my husbands account, then advising us to use the dehumidifier for the night to eliminate the stronge smell of Damp!!! Honestly, if we could go to another Hotel we would of!!! After a sleepless night for us all, I went back to reception to request a full refund as promised. I was then told to come back after 9am after breakfast was served, did this woman not understand we had suffered enough punishment in that hell hole. We then returned at 9am, only to be told we would be charged £172.00 for the night, plus an extra £100 which was apparently the fee charged by bookings.com.£272.00 for a Damp, filthy room. How could she possibly charge anyone to stay here, it needs knocking down, someone is going to be seriously ill. The woman had not even once apologised to us. We feel that this is an Honest review, and want to express how we was made to feel, and also to warn other families what they might experience. I hope this review will lead to a Full refurbishment or knocking down, of room 10 at Damp Lodge.(Pine Lodge) Mr&Mrs Thornley. Plus Three grandchildren ages, 6, 7, 12.

We came to see friends who live in Newquay and they had recommended pine lodge for us all as it’s a family hotel. Fabulous little hotel for families super outdoors heated swimming pool ideal when coming back from beach with kids . Room clean and tidy ( cleaned every day ) breakfast was great start to the day . We stayed in one evening with our friends for kids to use the pool and had the most fabulous pizzas cooked in their own pizza ovens and (as good as any pizza restaurants ). This is a family run hotel and Ash and all the team were amazing ( could not do enough to make your stay the best ). recommendations on beaches and attractions and restaurants to eat locally to even organising taxis for us all (9) Highly recommend Thanks to Ash and the family and team for making it a great stay

Wasn't happy here, especially for the price we paid. Small room. Not so great furniture. Very creaky bed. Poorly equipped bathroom. We had one of these electric showers but the water pressure was quite strong so the poor thing didn't have the time to heat the water properly. Checkout was far too early for a Sunday morning. Only one hour for breakfast, where you usually get two or three. Won't be back. There must be better options.

A very welcoming arrival, clean and modern building. Room was cosey and perfect for what we needed for one night and good value for money. Breakfast nice selection and very hot freshly cooked breakfast to start the day. Would recommended, great value.

Hi Just back from a fabulous 4 night stay. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by helpful, knowledgeable staff especially Judy and Ash (apologies if names are wrong) who went out of there way to recommend great places to eat, things to do and scenic pubs. We also wanted to pop and see my daughter who was at Broadmasters and after being quoted £60 return by taxi they done us a map and it was a half hour walk. Breakfast and bar food was lovely and having a pool during this heat wave made it. Will definitely be back, thank you!

Booked over a year ago for a special birthday celebration for my wife and family members, 15 of us in total. The planning included a full 3 course planned and agreed evening meal on the night of the birthday. On arrival an issue with the larger family group beds, with some changes to the room and addition of a couple of z beds as hotel was full and no spare single mattresses. Not the most comfortable for the age of the children but with my daughter rotating each night so the children had lowest number of nights on these. Rooms were clean tidy and comfortable, everything worked as it should, bathrooms bit tired but this is standard in a lot of hotels (even the one my wife and I went onto in Falmouth was tired in the bathroom area), room was refreshed daily with housekeeping. Breakfast was a good size with choices of cereal, croissants, yoghurt, toast followed by a cooked breakfast to your liking. Bar food was very good and reasonable prices and large portions, and a range from pizza thro burgers to curry enough for all tastes. Small games room with pool table and darts board. Swimming pool and area was tidy and clean, and pool was lovely and warm As we had a child with special needs the owners arranged for us to use a side gate to access the pool with the wheelchair. The pool was enjoyed by all on each day. The evening meal for 15 tables re set and decorated accordingly, and each and every course was cooked well and served well. We had a health incident in the evening, and Lia was helpful beyond expectation and so supportive. Ash was always doing something from pool, breakfast or cooking in the evening. Both Lia and Ash do try to make sure your holiday is very good, so any issues just ask. Plenty of parking with allocated spot for the mobility van Very close walk to Porth and into Newquay so perfect spot

Stayed just for one night. Very friendly staff, gave us much appreciated tips for our visit. Rooms very clean, although the seagulls were quite loud and noisy. Nice breakfast in the morning. Anytime again, I can truly recommend the place for your stay.
