The Bickley Mill

Being based 200 miles away, it was daunting to try to find the perfect venue in Devon for our wedding. Bickley Mill Inn was an excellent fit for us. Louise & Daisy helped us plan meticulously and accommodated most of our requests. Amy was superb on the day, guiding us and the guests together with suppliers seamlessly. She was amazing and so very helpful. It was like having our own Maitre D on hand at all times. A big thank you to Amy for keeping us sane on the day. Also Taya (hope the spelling is correct) was so lovely and helpful as were all the staff with our requests for music etc. Would thoroughly recommend. One slight ******, the bed in the bridal suite was so hard and uncomfortable. As the bride stayed in there alone the night before the wedding, sleep was deprived which didn't best help. Maybe a change of bed/mattress as a suggestion. The wedding breakfast was excellent, in fact so good that the pizzas we ordered later barely got eaten. Well done Chef.

We had a room booked and this was lovely, view of the gardens and a modern bathroom with walk in shower. Room was a touch cold but radiators are on a timer so came on about 6pm but this can be requested to be put on by staff sooner if required. We went and had a drink in the bar and sat in the snug which is a nice quiet area with sofas. The building is lovely and the drinks reasonably priced which is always nice these days. We would of had a walk around the grounds but the weather scuppered this but what we could see looked lovely and there are a few outside areas that would be lovely beer gardens for the right weather. Evening meal was fantastic and excellent service throughout. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced with excellent produce. Back in the room and the bed is very comfortable with the option of an extra blanket in the wardrobe if required but this was not needed. Breakfast included with the room price and the next morning this was had. Continental breakfast buffet of croissants, cereals and fresh juices and then you order your hot food which there was a good choice of. Again the produce is great and the English breakfast was fantastic. We were very pleased with our stay and would highly recommend to anyone if you'd like a night away or even just for dinner. Will definitely be returning and have sang praises to friends and family already. Thank you Bickley Mill and all the staff

Good Sunday lunch, plenty of veg and the service was good. Our only quibble was that there was only one meat…beef and it was not the most generous potion. Nice location, off the beaten track with a few lip cal walks that can be done to work off the desert.

Stayed before a few times and overall it’s great but this time stayed in Riviera room. Bed really uncomfortable, carpets dirty Really disappointed as other rooms are much better

We’re at the hotel for a wedding. As we had a 200 mile drive before the wedding we asked for an early check in. We were told via email by Daisy that this was not possible however we could change in the toilet!! I asked if we could get into our room just to change and then leave the room we were told not until after 3pm. The wedding was at 2. This we travelled in the belief that we would attend the wedding in our jeans. However when we arrived at 12.15 our room was ready. When I tried to buy 4 soft drinks for 4 children age 8 and under I was told I was in the wrong room and should use the other bar for wedding guests. This bar was empty. I was served.but only after the woman serving told her colleague that I had an attitude. All I wanted was 4 j2o. In the bedroom we here hear people in the other bedrooms arguing and in another room talking. The floors creaked badly. A bad nights sleep was had. Most of the staff were very good but some were not. Would we stay at the Bickley Mill Inn again….No.
