Two days at The Open at Royal Troon this week (Jul 24) and searched TA & Google for convenient hotels. Stumbled over The Redhurst - 30 min drive from golf course. So - took a punt. WOW - WHAT A FIND! OUTSTANDING value for money. Very modern and lovely furnished small hotel. Restaurant was excellent. Bar - well designed and great buzz. Bedroom, though not huge, was good enough and really well furnished, equipped and super comfortable bed and delightfully presented. Ver clean, well furnished with great in room nibbles ( be warned!). Ensuite with shower was well designed and furnished. Dinner menu was not large but more than adequate - simple straight forward good nosh. Crispy BBQ chicken strips , as a starter, is a must- delicious . Their steak & ale pie - WINNER! Meat quality was excellent & plentiful. All freshly cooked, hot and very very tasty. BUT.. the absolute star(s) of the show were the staff. Rarely have I met such young, motivated and customer focussed staff. From front desk, through bar to breakfast & dining staff - all were simply outstanding. They could not have done anything to make our stay any more pleasant. OUTSTANDING! I would highly recommend this hotel whether visiting on Scottish golf tour or Glasgow.I will be organising a golfing trip back to the West coast & will definitely be visiting again this lovely hotel. Thankyou to all the staff!

First class hotel with excellent staff and rooms,I stay here every week while working up Scotland. The rooms are modern and spotless with everything you need. All of the staff who I have got to know over the last year are excellent at there jobs and can’t do enough for you.breakfast is very good with plenty of choices, evening meals are good also. I would definitely stop here with my family rather than just for work

I chose this hotel because it was not so far from the airport. In principle, it is not bad, I can recommend it.

Our recent stay at Moxy Glasgow SEC was comfortable, quiet and enjoyable. The availability of heavily subsidised parking next to the hotel (which must be validated by asking at reception) was an added bonus - only £8/day! The check-in and check-out processes were straightforward, with friendly staff at reception. Accessed with a key-card, our room, although compact and overlooking the aforementioned car park, was modern, clean and provided good amenities. The view from the room didn't detract from our stay, as with the curtains drawn and window closed, any car park light/noise could be avoided - this was necessary the nights events were on at the SEC. Our room was a 'moxy twin sleeper' (two single beds) - though the beds were really close together. Additionally, there wasn't really any storage space, and the use of paper cups instead of the use of mugs could have elevated the room. Despite this, the room was well-decorated and met our needs during a four-night stay. Overall, the Moxy Glasgow SEC was well-priced, and the modern, clean rooms helped us to have a pleasant and comfortable stay!

Having stayed here a few times before due to its location and reasonable price, I was left disappointed this time. I had booked this hotel because for some reason every hotel in Glasgow that weekend was unusually expensive. Hotels I would have expected to pay ＞£100 were £150/180. The jury’s was £111. A warm welcome from reception staff and the main lobby is modern and clean. The room we were allocated (618) was a bit dated. It was spacious because it was an accessible room, not at our request so maybe why it was cheaper than others. The above two points didn’t really bother us because it was just somewhere to sleep as we were attending a gig. Unfortunately we did not sleep very well. The windows didn’t do enough to soundproof the outside street noise, the walls were paper thin and you could hear the neighbours talking, plugging and unplugging electrical items- all minor quiet stuff which you shouldn’t really be able to here. Our room had a buzzing noise coming from the vent in the room which kept us awake til 7.30am… and then the neighbours started getting ready to check out. We never complained during the night because we were so tired after being out all night and the noise was intermittent so just when you thought you were back to sleep, it started again. The room was clean but as I said dated, and for this reason I don’t think I’d chose to stay here again.

Thank you to the staff, as a solo traveller I was quite nervous but I felt so safe. Check in was smooth and friendly. The hotel is clean, stylish and smart. You need your room key to use the lifts so I felt so safe going to my room. I stayed in a double room and it was so spacious! Everything was tidy and well placed. Even though there was a fun fair on the next street it didn’t really bother me when I shut the window. It was my first time staying in an apart-hotel and I would definitely recommend! I didn’t know that having ice in the freezer and cutlery would make me so happy haha. I could chill my water and have a lovely meal in my room without having to fork out for a more expensive takeaway. I used the Tesco express down the street to get myself fresh food. The bathroom had a lovely heated towel Rail too so I had the warmest, fluffiest towel! Down in the lobby they have a Brita water filter, board games, extra kitchen equipment and food and drink. Will certainly return if I ever visit Glasgow again!

Excellent service from walking through the door Mark on reception was pleasant efficient and very helpful at check inn ,my room as ready a little early and was still allowed to check inn , room was good with no issues nice and clean bed very comfortable, all the staff are very pleasant and welcoming, food and service i cannot fault , for me the location is ideal being close to the M74 , a good overall hotel staff location and rice rolled into one , i will be staying here again well done guys . I wouldn't quite go as far as to say I complain about everything, however I am the perinnial 'grumpy old man' when it comes to hospitality in the UK as of late. Also, I am not the biggest fan of the lower cost hotel brands and it is rare I right this type of review (it may be the first). However I have spent two nights at the Holiday Inn Express in Hamilton and I have been overwhelmed. The customer service at EVERY level was exceptional, occasionally you get one good member of staff but from check in, to breakfast and the simple questions they go the extra mile. The reception staff met me with a big smile and a warm welcome, my room was clean and well serviced and the reception is roomy and pleasant. Breakfast was the standard Holiday Inn Express, but cooked well and well presented. But that doesn't quite cut it, I had a few small questions, simply where I could print a document, get a cup of tea and find a gift for my partner (I forgot her Easter egg). None of this was too much and everything was sorted quickly. I probably spend 200 nights a year in hotels and colleagues spend significantly more, I will be exclusively using IHG going forward and recommending we all do the same. Thank you to all of the staff there.

We booked a weekend break with a view to staying an extra night however, we couldn’t escape quick enough. I tried to call the spa to book a spa day for my hubby and I and each time the phone range and cut off! So no spa could be booked. Let down number one! Upon arrival I checked in and was told the bill was £540?? £440 for the room and £50 per room per night “incidentals” on my card. Not a problem but why not say this instead of just expecting us to know. Let down number two! I mentioned about the spa, there was no apology and was asked if I wanted to book in there, nope that ship unfortunately had sailed. The room was spacious and comfortable enough with everything you needed, I would have expected a coffee pod machine for the price of the stay but instead a kettle and instant coffee it was, this need addressing, I understand they’re undergoing refurbishment which is fine, but let people know and price rooms accordingly. As the room looked tired with peeling wallpaper etc. The breakfast was a huge let down…. (We stayed 6 years previously and the breakfast was cooked to order!) it was on a par with a toby carvery breakfast! The station was tucked into a corner of the room so that if one person was helping themselves, nobody else could get in, leading to it being very awkward to navigate! The coffee was terrible. Not what you expect from a 5 start hotel! That was faux pas three at this point. After breakfast, We decided to check out to spa area. We walked down in our slippers and robes and was met by a young brunette girl and very rude blonde woman, who were deep in conversation about another member of staff. They didn’t stop their conversation for us but did for another woman arrived after us. After she had finished dealing with this lady she didn’t even look at us and just grunted sign in there. There was no direction as to where anything was. No warm smile or any sort of customer service! After making use of the pool and sauna we decided we’d like to sit in the jacuzzi outside…… we were just about to walk in and a young brunette girl said no you can’t go in there!!! I said I’m sorry? She said you aren’t allowed in there at 10.30am as they hold the area to “paying spa guests only” and if we wanted to go in we could after 6pm, This is where I decided to put her straight regarding the failed phone calls to book said spa and that they’d missed out on £324 for the two of us because they couldn’t be bothered to answer nor could they show us the time of day when we arrived at the reception! The attitude of both these women was unacceptable and disgusting!!! Definitely not the attitude to have when dealing with “paying” hotel guests. We weren’t staying a third night and upon check out I noticed 10% gratuities had been added to our bill! I’m not sure why, nobody served us at a table, we had to frequent the bar and carry them ourselves to our table! I couldn’t order room service from the bar this was an issue for some reason! It was a fa
