Maun Lodge
4/55 Reviews
We stayed in a permanent tent for 3-nights over Christmas. On arrival, nobody on site were aware of our booking and our “tent” was not ready as booked. The linen was clean and comfortable but the rest of the tent was a disaster. It felt like a storage room with too many tables, a barely working, flimsy bedside table and no main light (it was not working). Open electrical cords, very dusty and dirty and worn down. The property is set in an ideal location, with beautiful views of the Boteti River but the facilities are not well looked after and extremely dirty. The manager on duty, Heinrich, was more interested in entertaining his visiting friends and family than attending to guests. They basically “took over” the jeti with their unattended fishing gear, and their dogs were barking at guests and swimming in the pool, leaving it quite dirty especially because no one was cleaning. There was almost no one to serve us at the bar/restaurant but both the manager and his wife (and another lady) helped themselves with drinks and all the ice in the machine during our stay - taking it over to their “house” for their own consumption which I guess is fine as long as your guests are looked after. The breakfast was ok but they only served instant coffee… When paying EUR60pp/pn you would hope for better service and neat, tidy and clean facilities.
Cresta Maun Hotel
3.8/550 Reviews
Cresta Maun offers value for money. It's a quiet, upscale apartment that is cozy and warm, with lovely staff. I enjoyed their meal; it has quite some variety. Coming from Nigeria, they have some great meals that cater to an international audience.
Sedia Riverside Hotel
4.2/532 Reviews
The reception was very friendly, our room couldn't be in a little too early. They had a good lunch and when the room was ready we were taken and the room was good. Our room looked out to the garden with a seat in front of the door, The lady was all clean out. The restaurant is a la cart and there is enough and it is good quality. Obers also very nice. you can also swimming there, but little shadow around the pool. Because we had booked a trip from here and returned, it was fortunately no problem to leave our car parked there (safe)
Cresta Riley's Hotel
3.9/543 Reviews
I'm writing to you today to highly recommend Cresta Riley's Hotel for your upcoming trip to Maun, Botswana. Cresta Riley's is one of the best hotels in the country, not just in Maun. It offers a wide range of amenities and services to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The hotel's rooms are spacious and well-appointed, with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they're always willing to go the extra mile to make sure your needs are met. Cresta Riley's is also home to a number of excellent restaurants, including one that serves traditional Botswana cuisine. The food is delicious and reasonably priced, and it's a great way to experience the local culture.
Mokoro Lodge
4.1/59 Reviews
Stayed 2 nights and both nights the complex was full of what appeared to be construction industry chaps who partied until the wee hours so a bit noisy despite being away from entrance. That said I would say again, room was good, had a safe and spacious. Bathroom was missing a glass panel so a shower curtain was in place. Food at the bar for lunch was ok and the bar itself is reasonably priced.
