Lake Side Nikko Hotel

The hotel is close to Lake Chuzenji, so I think the location is good. The facility overall seemed small, but it was clean and comfortable to stay in.

Although it is an old-fashioned hotel, it has good value for money. The rooms are spacious and there are hot springs. It is only a quarter of an hour's walk from Mt. Nantai, which is very suitable for us climbers.

The location is very good. It is recommended to walk directly from Chuzenji Onsen Station. The scenery along the trail is very beautiful and should not be missed. The hot spring is sulfur, but the appraisal report is signed by the hotel itself rather than the common hot spring association. The environment is so good but there is no outdoor hot spring, which is a pity. There are many good hotels around the lake and in Oku-Nikko, and there are many room and board packages, but Ctrip has very few choices.

Suitable for people who like nature, there are no shops and restaurants nearby.

The hotel is located in a scenic area (beside Chuzenji Lake), and there are no shops nearby. You need to take a bus from Tobu Nikko Station to Maruyama (バス), about 1 hour. This time I checked in at about 5:30 pm. After confirming with the counter, no dinner was provided. I didn’t buy any food on the way here. I had to buy the vending machine provided by the hotel, Nissin Curry Cup Noodles (400¥), Asahi/Kirin Beer 330ml (300¥), very expensive. Be sure to buy meals and drinks at the station or convenience store, otherwise you can only buy expensive vending machines. ＊When checking in, winter fuel fee (500¥/person), bathing fee (150¥/person) will be charged, and breakfast (2200¥/person) will be added. The room is Japanese-style tatami, very spacious and comfortable, but the tatami floor is not cleaned with a vacuum cleaner, and the whole body will be covered with sawdust when lying down, which is not very good. There are only two indoor pools in the bathing area, hot and warm, but the body temperature does not reach 40 degrees. The pool is not very big, and it can be used by about 3-4 people at the same time, but it is great to have a bath in the deep mountains. The traffic is not very convenient, and it can only be moved by bus. It is about 2 kilometers away from the nearest urban area, and it takes about 25 minutes to walk. Breakfast is a Western-style platter, bread, and corn soup. It is quite delicate, but there are not many portions. It is suitable for people who have many people and want a larger space, where they can eat their own food, drink and chat.
