I had a fantastic stay at the hotel! The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel welcome. The room was clean and comfortable, with stunning views. The amenities, including the hot spring and restaurant, were top-notch. I highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing getaway!

We terribly regret booking this hotel. It completely ruined our stay in Niko. It feels like a large chain hotel with no character and no attentive customer service. 1. The location is very (!) far from all the attractions. 30 minutes by car to Nikko temples, and one hour (!) drive to all the main waterfalls. We should have done better research. 2. We booked a room Japanese style with a private outdoor onsen. The decor is not really Japanese style (very modern) and the outdoor onsen had mosquitoes! Impossible to relax. Also, the water wasn’t very hot and you cannot adjust the temperature from the room. 3. The restaurant has beautiful presentation, but we did not like the food at all. When we politely asked to cancel our next nights’ dinner reservations (we paid a lot of money for this hotel) they refused to refund, even after we told them we will not be coming to the dinners. They showed no flexibility or sensitivity and we were very upset with the food. Very disappointed. 4. Value for money - for the price they charge, I expect better accommodation, better food, better location, and much better service. Be careful about booking this.

The hotel location may be somewhat challenging to locate, but once found, you'll discover a beautiful hotel with fantastic service. Additionally, the included dinner is delicious and enjoyable.

Will definitely go again

Very good hotel. It is also very comfortable to take a hot spring bath at night. The catering cost performance is full! The front desk service is a little worse because of an intern. I am very satisfied with everything else.

酒店入口其實都幾遠。不是自己駕車一定唔方便。不過酒店有自己的䌫車上大堂又真係好有驚喜及有趣。不過繁忙時間就有排等車就是了⋯房間內有自己的風呂絕對是一大賣點。早晨及黃昏去泡一轉，享受房間對住的自然美景真的身心舒𣈱。不過晩上因為飛蟲問題就不太建議用。都係返去用大浴場好了。大浴場雖然冇乜景，但是有免費的飲品及冰條提供。房間除了我打死了一曱甴外，其實都叫清潔乾淨的。晚餐早餐都係唔錯的美味。 服務態度貼心，仲有小朋友玩具可以借。2歲女兒亦住得開心。

The service is very good, breakfast and dinner are rich and delicious, especially the dinner is amazing, sitting by the window, the beautiful scenery and delicious food, the experience is strong. To get to the hotel, you have to take a cable car of the hotel, which is very unique. Catch the lecture on Mashiko ware arranged by the hotel, which is a very good experience.

I have stayed in several special hotels of Hoshino before, but this is my first time staying in a hot spring hotel. Overall, I am quite satisfied. The small train is full of ritual, and the food is indeed satisfactory. The hotel is unique in Kinu River, not on the riverside. Don't have any illusions about the room, but Hanami Onsen in the cherry blossom season is amazing. It is enough to stay once. Next time I come back to Kinu River, I may consider a traditional Japanese inn.

The food in this restaurant is quite bad among the many Hoshino hotels I stayed in…very ordinary and the ingredients are not high-end. The hotel should be sold for the scenery during the red leaf season. However, there are too many choices of beautiful maple leaf hotels in Japan. Overall, the service of this hotel is quite good. However, I would not recommend friends to come to this hotel. It is too ordinary and the price-performance ratio is relatively low.

This is a hotel with a false reputation. I had high expectations for it. It was the most expensive hotel in the trip, costing more than 4,000 yuan. Unexpectedly, it was the worst and the service was terrible. No one came to pick up the luggage. The food was average, basically bad. Apart from the gimmick of the slope elevator going up, the hotel has no attractions or features at all. The most annoying thing was the waiters, whose attitude was very bad.

It is recommended to take a taxi to the hotel, it is really impossible to walk. There is a small monorail cable car for check-in, which takes a few minutes and goes up the mountain for dozens of meters. The hotel is very new, with a forest view. The large bathroom does not feel like an old hot spring hotel. The only blow dryer is a Dyson. The room is 40 square meters, neat and simple, with a terrace and no bathtub. The tea bar in the lobby is simple and the hot water is warm. Breakfast and dinner are completely bad reviews! It’s not that the ingredients should be good, but at least they should be snacks. The meals at Jie Alps, which I ate before, also focused on the presentation and had design concepts. The two meals at Jie Kinugawa were too perfunctory. The miso soup was extremely salty, a few small pieces of sashimi, and three thin slices of beef for the main course. This is the worst meal I have ever eaten with an average cost of more than 2,000 per person. I used to love ordering Jie because the local fun was exciting, wine tasting and performances, but later the local fun of some stores began to fool around, such as Jie Boroto and Kinugawa’s Mashiko yaki. Later, I found hot spring hotels such as Arima Grand, Ginsuiso, Hama no Yu, and Izu Kogen Kamenoi. I found that Hoshino Kyoto did a good job in promotion, but the supplies, especially the only bottle of bulk water, were unbearable, and the meals were very mid-range, but they were sold at high-end prices. The quality of each Kyoto restaurant varies, and the Kinugawa restaurant is of medium to low quality. It is not worth spending this price to come to this remote place to see this scenery and eat this meal.
