Overall, I am satisfied. The hotel has a shuttle bus, which can be booked with the hotel. You can also make an appointment to be taken to the station. There is no place to take a bath in the traditional Japanese room. You have to go to the public bath, but there are relatively few people. Our hotel is equivalent to a private bath. Of course, there are also private baths that can be booked separately. The reservation is 1,000 yuan for 45 minutes. The experience is very good. The location is right in the Shinbashi Bridge, and there is also the oldest shrine in Tochigi nearby. The location is really good. Very convenient.

The hotel is located near Shenqiao. There are hotel signs on the roadside. You need to walk up a small slope. It is a neighbor of Jingu Hotel! Downhill from the hotel is the main road, with supermarkets, restaurants and other shops. Since the shops close around dark, buy what you need in advance. The room is very clean and bright, with views of the garden and distant mountains outside the window. The hot springs are super comfortable, and the open-air bath makes people feel comfortable. The service attitude is very good and highly recommended. During the Yayoi Festival, the floats arrived at the hotel, and the hotel hosted food and drinks. It was obvious that the hotel was very famous in the local area.

This is Hoshinoya, a Japanese luxury chain ryokan hotel that you can trust and use. The open-air bath is really pretty and nice^^ However, the explanation by the foreign staff in the lobby is a bit lacking.

The hotel is located on a hillside next to Nikko Toshogu Shrine. It is very close to Kamibashi Station. However, there was no place to eat nearby at night. It may be the off-season, and there is a Lawson supermarket only 15 minutes' walk away.

A traditional Japanese-style hot spring hotel with a good location, within a 5-minute walk from the Shinkyo Bridge, the hotel provides regular shuttle buses (JR Nikko Station, Tobu Nikko Station), very convenient

Took the hotel pick up shuttle at the Nikko JR station, it took about 5 minutes to reach the hotel. There are quite a number of shops and restaurants nearby the hotel. The famous Toshogu which is the tomb of Tokugawa Ieyasuis located within 20 minutes with walk, and the Shinkyo bridge is even closer. The hotel is hiding up hill at the end of the main onsen street with not many rooms. Check in was smooth, we were offered a hot tea while waiting in the lobby lounge. We booked a rather big room located at the end of the hallway, with separate living room and bedroom. The bedroom has the western style beds and the massage lounger. The public bath is located further down the way through an outdoor walkway. The public bath and outdoor bath is relatively small but there are not many people using it. We are having the breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. The serving of yuba is interesting, you are given the food material and the stove to cook for yourself and served hot. We have the luxury dinner on the second night so we were seated inside a private room overlooking the garden. The food is sumptuous and well worth the money. There are quite many foreign customers patronizing the hotel during the period.

Too Expensive!! i knew the cost when i booked and expected an awesome experience , which it was not. everything was at extra cost, towel, extra egg, extra blanket all not described in the booking but definitely took away from what should have been an excellent experience. The hotel was aged and was not worth the price charged.

They picked us up from train station. Held our bags while we enjoyed the nikko temples and the abyss. Came back and soaked in the onsen until dinner (wearing our yukata and slippers) which was delicious and a lot of fun (we made our own yuba and grilled our wagyu beef). This was our first night sleeping on futons on tatami mats and next time I’d double up the mat. We had no shower in our room but others had one — we showered in the onsen area. In the morning, back downstairs in our yukata for a beautiful extensive Japanese breakfast. I’d have loved to learn what we were eating! Patient and quiet service. Then they brought us to the train station to continue on. Highly recommend.

I've been to many onsen and ryokan all over Japan, and Hoshinoyado truly stands out. The food was spectacular—every bite was truly delicious and featured the local specialties, and everything was styled with seasonal artistry. I can say without hesitation that the breakfast was the best I've ever eaten in Japan. Plus, our table looked out over a shady Japanese garden that was knee-deep in moss, with a sparkling stream. The inn and room were both pristine, with no shabby corners, and the public bath was inviting—very clean, with every amenity you can imagine, and not blisteringly hot. I've seen everything there is to see in Nikko at least once, but I'd go again just to stay at Hoshinoyado.

We have enjoyed our stay at the ryokan, rooms are very spacious, we had also the chance to enjoy a good view from 3rd floor. There is the possibility to rent for 45 minutes a private onsen for one thousand yen, which we have enjoyed. Breakfast was very good. Hotel offers a free shuttle to pick guests up to the station and also for the return. Everyone was very kind and an enjoyable experience. It's in a good position, and there are different interest spot. We would surely recommend.

Not only the Japanese staff but also the foreign staff were very friendly, the food was delicious, and it was easy to explore the surrounding area. The view from the room and the bath in the room were spacious, so I was able to relax both physically and mentally. If I had one more day, I might have been able to enjoy sightseeing more.
