Stayed 3 nights in small double room with attached bathroom Clean, comfortable and quiet if somewhat lacking in a friendly atmosphere. Close to the railway station and tourist information Centre. Note hotel is closed during the day and open at 3pm for check-in. You can leave bags in locker for 100 yen. Nice small onsen bath to relax after a day of sightseeing. Note the breakfast caters mainly to Japanese guests with no fresh food. I found it awful and resorted to the convenience store across the street.

The room is quite large, the beds are all large double beds, the tables, chairs and sofas are also very good, there are also projectors and TVs, the kitchen is also fully equipped, including a microwave, induction cooker, and cooking utensils, so you can cook by yourself. The whole room is a big open space The room has no partitions and is not suitable for those who need privacy. Those who live on the first floor may face the noise from residents walking on the second floor. The hotel is located next to the highway, next to a small village, about a quarter of an hour's walk from Tobu Nikko Station. Although the road is not long, it is not very smooth. There is a 7-11 and a larger supermarket within three minutes. There is no front desk, check-in requires self-service, and the room has a password lock. Remember that you cannot check in before three o'clock and you cannot store your luggage. Your luggage can be stored at the station. It cost 5,100 RMB to stay for three days. I stayed with my family in December 2021. I liked it too much after a long time, so I repeated my reservation in March. ■ Meals The meals can be selected as ”buffet style”, ”half private room dining room” and ”room meal”, but definitely ”buffet style” is recommended. I thought it would be a pretty delicious part compared to the live kitchen, the freshly fried tenkara and the buffet of the common hotel. This level is not too much to say the same class as the ”hanari” of Lake Hakone, ashinoko. The vegetables that tend to be pulled out of this hand are delicious and exciting. In addition, for families with small children, there is a half-private room zashiki in the buffet venue, and there is a child menu in ”１ lower position than adults” so that small children can take it by themselves Anyway, I was impressed that I was worried about １ rank ２ rank compared to the hotel in the same price range. Then the buffet alcohol was rich in variety and was free to drink at + 1,500 yen. When I chose a little early 17 o'clock, please eat at night. It seems to be limited, but fireworks rose right behind the hotel. I thought I was working very hard while the customer was decreasing in the corona. I thought Kinugawa had been lonely, but I suddenly wanted to support it.

This hotel is very close to Kinugawa Station! The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable! There is a mountain across the river outside the balcony window. It is very comfortable to hear the sound of the mountain spring flowing from time to time. Fortunately, there is an eagle neighbor. Every day you can see him flying low in the river to look for food and standing on the tower pillar to gaze! Both dinner and breakfast are Japanese-style meals with great care. The dinner chef will write a poem-like introduction to the dishes. When we went to have dinner, the service staff came into the room to make the bed. It was so clean and comfortable! There are two types of large hot springs, indoor and outdoor. The bathing area is also large and comfortable, so the bathroom in the room cannot be used. The most unforgettable thing about this hotel is the ”starry sky”! After taking a bath, we returned to the room and could see many stars on the balcony, so we turned off all the lights in the room, and the stars were indeed ”all over the sky”! Sit on a recliner and listen to the spring + stargazing + drink hot tea... it's a rare enjoyment in the world to calm down your mind!

The service and courtesy at the hotel were great. This time I was traveling by myself. When I arrived at the hotel gate, a staff member showed me the parking direction. Then another staff member came up to me and asked me my name. After I unloaded my luggage, I parked my car. Give it to the first clerk. When checking in at the front desk, the explanation is very clear. Please note that it is always a suburban hot spring hotel and the staff has limited English. After checking in, there is a welcome drink + snack in the lobby. Unexpectedly, there is also ice cream. After that, you can enjoy the hot spring bath. After the bath, you have dinner just in time. This is a buffet style. It may be the crab season. Crab tempura, crab ax pot rice, and crab sushi rice are very fresh and sweet. After dinner, there will be a show at the hotel. I’m not sure if it will be on Sunday first. The breakfast buffet is relatively ordinary, just normal.

This is my third trip/adventure to Japan. I would say as a solo traveler this has to be one of the very best places I have ever stayed in when travelling around Japan. I came to Nikko np to explore the vast array of hiking trails, all of which I did, had breathtaking views and a poetic, truly majestic Japanese feel to them. I rented a car from Nasushiobara (Shinkansen) and drove across to Kinugawa. On arrival I was greeted by a host of the hotel staff, welcoming me and helping me with parking and my bags. I checked in with ease and with some broken English and Japanese on my part was led to a beautiful traditional Japanese style room overlooking the river. The service throughout was world class and made me feel both very comfortable, at home, but also special. I stayed 3 nights with half board (breakfast and dinner), both truly amazing and served with grace and politeness. On the first evening’s dinner one of the serving staff took the time to speak with me and allowed me to share some of my recent experiences/photos etc whilst preparing dinner - this was most welcome, especially as I had been travelling alone for over a week. The location of the onsen hotel is about 60 mins drive to some of the most sought after walks in the np. Very easy to access by car and excellent roads. The accommodation itself is a mix between very traditional Japanese resort and original/boutique Ryokan. The private and public onsen’s are fantastic and a well deserved rest-bite after a long days hiking! Having been to some of the most popular ryokan’s in Japan; Iwaso, Claska etc, this came as a very nice surprise and at an affordable rate without any compromise. If in the area, I would highly recommend staying…

I adore the Ritz Carlton brand - whether in Paris, SG, Dubai or HK - you are guaranteed an experience that is captivating. Unfortunately this is not the case in Nikko. I am not a hotel guest. But since I am in lake Chuzenji & have heard so much raves about the hotel, I thought I would drop by the admire the beauty & splendour of the Ritz in lovely Nikko. I didn’t have a restaurant reservation, but being low season in Nikko, I wouldn’t think it will be a problem to get a table for 2 for lunch? Unfortunately, I was wrong. So wrong. I was told the hotel is booked out the whole day for dining in Lakehouse? I enquired - how about any other restaurants? No, Mam. Non available. I can wait - it’s already 1.30pm, surely a table will open up pretty quickly in very quiet Nikko at the moment? The lady replied - that’s the thing - we are booked out the whole day, just for today. Well deeply, I cannot stop rolling my eyes. Fine, I don’t need to be captivated with the splendid of Ritz by Lake Chuzenji given the arrogance & lackadaisical service, just because I am not a hotel guest? Worse was this conversation did not take place in the warm hotel lobby. I was standing at the hotel entrance in cold winter afternoon. Thanks you Ritz, for the very very very cold reception. The pure ignorance & discrimination for non-hotel guest.I am truly enlightened.

The location of this hotel is very good, near the station, really very close, platform 28 is at the door of the hotel, the 26th station is about five minutes walk, and then the balcony can directly see Lake Zhongzen Temple, the hot springs are quite satisfactory, Breakfast is a rich buffet whether it is a buffet or a single meal. If there are few people in the hotel, it will be a single meal. The pork chops for dinner are really tender. Although the dishes are few, they are very delicate. The hotel staff are very enthusiastic and will recommend Attractions, it just snowed on the first night! Very happy.

Visited on a family trip. The room was a small room, but Obekka was used at the front desk saying ”I upgraded this time”. There are many old folk houses that foreigners like + legendary Tengu, Tanuki, and Fujin Raijin from deep in the mountains of Japan. There is no toilet or bath in the room. What you have to be careful about is that the restroom only has water, and the drain from the faucet is narrow, so washing your hands is probably the limit. It has a system of shared toilets and shared baths, and the shared bath on the first floor is about the size of a public bath and has only one large bathtub. There is an outdoor area, but it is about 5 people wide. You can wash your body in the communal bath, but you can't in the private bath. I thought it was for foreign tourists from such a place. The food is a buffet and there is almost no food for children under infants, so if you are using a family, you will need to bring your own food for children who can not eat for adults, or buy meals at a convenience store in Kinugawa. be. Adult meals are delicious, but for some reason the staff rushes to eat. In the morning, when the last order time passes, the food is mercilessly lowered, so it is necessary to go early. Also, when it's time for dinner, it's annoying because they come right away to pick up the plates. If you pay 3,300 yen per group, you can use the private bath for 24 hours. There are 6 places, so I usually put it somewhere. And for repeaters, the private bath will be free next time. Based on the above, it is not suitable for families with small children at all. It would be better if they were at least junior high school students. Also, I think it would be satisfactory for couples who want to relax alone, foreign tourists, couples, and elderly female travelers. Personally, I think it would be nice if there was a toilet and bath in the room, but I think it would be difficult to get there because it takes about 60 minutes by car from Kinugawa Onsen Station to climb a mountain. There is nothing around, but on the contrary it is vacant, so I think it is good to take a walk in nature.
