Sant'Efis Hotel

The main attraction of this hotel is the stunning gardens. The gardeners do a fantastic job of maintaining such beautiful garden spaces. The area around the rear pool is particularly impressive. It was a pleasure to sit by the pool surrounded by incredible plants and fragrant flowers. There are two pools which were both just warm enough to swim in for the first week of June. They were both clean and well maintained. There were sufficient loungers and umbrellas available around the pool for everyone due to the quiet time of year. We stayed in a standard room for 2 nights which overlooked the car park although thanks to the gardens the view is softened by plants and hedges. Both the room and balcony were small. The balcony in particular was so small that the chairs and table could not be moved. There is no privacy on the balconies so you have to find a time when no one else is out on their balcony if you want to enjoy it. The room was nicely furnished and decorated mainly in white with a decent spacious shower. The reason we could not give a top rating was the air-conditioning. Although it could be turned on it did not cool the room which remained at 24 degrees and above which meant we had to keep the window open during the night. It appears that it is being centrally controlled and is either not in cooling mode in early June or is being turned off. We didn’t eat at the hotel’s restaurant due to the poor reviews we had read but had cocktails at the bar one night which were ok (not mixed with standard ingredients) but expensive by Italian standards at €15. Breakfast offered a good selection and coffee was quickly served which we appreciated. As we had an early check-out, the hotel even provided a breakfast bag to go with fruit, yoghurt, juice and a piece of cake. We found the staff at the hotel very professional and check-in and out was efficient. We liked the extra touches like the free flip flops and bag provided in the room, welcome drink and breakfast to go. We would certainly return if ever in Pula again.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and think its one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The design and layout of the hotel is fantastic particularly the gardens with sunbeds tucked away - it was like a national trust garden in Italy! Fantastic setting right on the beach with a view of Nora. We ate in the restaurant once and the food and service was wonderful. All the staff were so friendly and clearly happy in their work. We would not hesitate to return or recommend.

Together with my husband and our 2 year old son, we spent a relaxing day at the Sant' Efis hotel. The interior design of the rooms is really beautiful: a mix of minimalism and Sardinian craftsmanship. The bathroom is very spacious and has all the amenities available. The swimming pools (perfect for children) are surrounded by a splendid sensory garden. And the staff is very professional, friendly and available to satisfy all your needs. I highly recommend it to all who are looking for some down time in a luxurious and natural environment.

The hotel has a special vibe, with all the plants surrounding you have a feeling as you were in some tropical country. It is well maintained, the rooms are spacious, the pools are great, you get the beach towels and flip flops too, would have preferred if the pool was heated, since the weather was not the best. The breakfast was delicious and great choice, the staff extremely friendly and in the four days we stayed there we did not have anything negative to point out. Great stay and can only recommend it.

With the hotel being a 30 minute walk from the nearest amenities, it needs to have a fantastic beach. Unfortunately the beach very much lets this hotel down, being narrow, covered in seaweed and lined with fences/walls of adjacent houses. There is a nicer beach a short walk away but it feels wasteful to spend €35 on sunbeds that your hotel is providing for free around the corner. On the sunbeds, the hotel really needs to improve the beach beds as they are old and uncushioned. With regards to amenities, the town of Pula has a few decent restaurants. However by far the highlight of our holiday was a meal at Fradis Minoris, a fine dining fish restaurant within walking distance of the hotel. We didn't properly try the hotel restaurant - one night we stopped by for dessert which was disspointing. Now on to the positives. The hotel always feels very quiet despite being fully booked or close to it. Whether you want to spend time at the beach or one of the pools, the sunbeds are always less than 50% occupied. The main pool is the centrepiece of the hotel and is very well kept with beautiful gardens surrounding it. The staff here are always very friendly and made some awesome cocktails with freshly blended fruit. Overall, I didn't think this hotel was great value for money and if i was booking in this area of Sardinia again, I would look 30 mins further south where there is a cluster of world class beaches.
