Here is the scoop On the positive side the rooms are large, the location is very good, especially for Old Dominion University, and the breakfast is okay with a couple of good hot selections. The shower was decent as well. On the negative side, the rooms and furniture are dated, the air con and heating system is old, loud, and located so that most of the air blows between the curtain and the window (after running all night at a setting of 70, our room dropped only to 78 degrees). The rooms are only serviced if you make a specific request (although you are not told this until you question why the room was not attended). After two nights someone finally came in and made our bed, provided clean towels, and did nothing else. On our hall there were a number of rooms with trash placed outside the door, where it sat for more than 18 hours waiting for the ”cleaning” staff. Not very appealing as you are walking to your room. Neither at check-in or in the room was there any written information provided about the hotel. It's also helpful to know the internet password, how to navigate an unfamiliar TV set up, and the hours for breakfast, the grill restaurant, the pool, etc. When

At check-in the clerk seemed a bit irritated or ready to go. I usually get great customer service when I stay here. I guess she was having a bad day.

We checked in on May 13, 2023. Not happy at all from the start.................... First off lets start with the front desk.... 1. The front desk associate was highly rude to my family and I, upon getting to the front desk he gave us a head nod for us to proceed to the desk ( not professional at all) We did not get a hey how are you, welcome to the Sheraton none of that!!! The response that we got from the associate was” this is how I talk to everyone” If this is the case then the front desk is not where he should be working at all. However, there was a young man Tyquorie I think that is his name that works at the front desk he was very sweet when I went back to the front desk to ask for assistance. 2. We get upstairs to our room and I instantly pull back the sheets and there is hair in the beds and the mattress pads are dirty. To put the icing on the cake the corner of the mattress was disgusting... I did not want my children nor myself and girlfriend laying in that, but all the surrounding hotels were sold out and we were there celebrating my moms birthday. When I approached the housekeepers he got upset with me because I asked for clean bed linens and her response to me was ”I just cleaned the room and she was not gonna change the sheets” this made me even more upset than I already was. The housekeeping supervisor (Kenneth) he was awesome, I showed him what I was talking about and he attempted to get me straight. 3. The room had a 32 inch television that sat in the corner of the dresser 4. When we got into the room we only had 1 wash clothe ( it was 4 of us in that room) I went down too the front desk and asked for 3 towels and 4 wash clothes (at 6 pm) and we never received them. I then called at 7:30 and asked again and did not receive them, the third time I called I was told that they could not give me what i was asking for. Then at 9:30 someone knocked on our door with linens. I work at a hotel and no one should be treated like this at all!! It was really sad honestly. I most likely will be contacting corporate office about this because I know all hotels have a standard and I am pretty sure that this is not acceptable at all. I expected so much more from the Sheraton on the water in Norfolk VA!!!! The sad thing about it is that I was hoping to have a great experience. We did not at all!! Not even worth $243.00 per night

I made a reservation and held it with my credit card one week before my arrival date. On the day of arrival, while enroute, I received a phone call from the front desk telling me that they had to cancell my reservation due to overbooking the hotel. The front desk clerk did let me know that there where other hotels close by if I was interested. I asked to have the names of the properties emailed to me. Instead, I received an email showing that I made a late cancellation which comes with a cancellation fee. The hotel manager was kind enough to waive the fee but made no attempt to find me a room. Every staff person that I had spoken with had a very clear ”Could Care Less” attitude. I did manage to get a room through Hilton Honors, which I have been a loyal member for over 25 years. Although, their attitude was about the same as the Hampton Inn in regards to the issue. So, if your travels require you to have a guarantied room, do not make a reservation with this hotel, and think twice about making one with any Hilton property. I do not think that Hilton fully understands the power of a network of a respected person attending a business meeting with 150 other travelers. Many will not stay here again.

The General Manager (Savannah) and the Front Office Supervisor (Sharon) are two of the most caring people I have ever encountered at a Marriott property. I have been a loyal Marriott customer for 15 years. I have stayed at a number of properties, but this property will forever stand out to me. Some properties have lost their ”human” side of things and treat customers as $$$, however, this property treats people with compassion and care. My father became ill while staying at this property and needed an ambulance. Within minutes they contacted an ambulance and got him to the hospital right away. They even went as far as trying to reach out to family members to inform them of what was happening. Although they were sold out that night, they were able to secure another room for him at a sister property so that he would not be without a room, once he was released. They were able to gather all his items from the room and place them in a safe area and were very friendly to the family members that came to help. The property itself is very quiet and clean. They even provide fresh baked cookies at the desk for guest! Such a great touch!! Definitely would return for not only the hotel accommodations but for also the welcoming staff! Consider this a piece of relaxation during your travels!

Very Good
IIsupportRonPaulSo it was a quick in and out . Dropped car off at airport and just needed place with a shuttle for the morning. The two shuttle drivers were excellent. The lady who checked me in and the young guy who checked me out , both very good as well. Service was good , but the customer interaction was even better .
GGuest UserI wasn't allowed to change my reservation from 2 nights to 1 night after finding out our match schedule. We drove in early Friday morning with the intent of checking in then bc we had a room for Thursday and Friday night only to be told the room was released as a no-show (which I had sent a message through the Hilton App that we would be checking in early Friday am). So, then I had to wait to check in on Friday for Friday night until after 1:00 pm BUT I was still charged for the Thursday night room which - I was fine with bc we wanted to check in early - but that didn't happen. The hotel was not helpful at all with the situation and kind of played dumb with the whole process. I will not be keeping my Hampton Rewards for future stays. For a preferred customer rewards program - not happy with the outcome.
JJoanna923Very good, but missing a little bit. The people at the front desk are very nice. The breakfast is slightly better than the 'free breakfast' at the other chain. The parking at the parking garage across the street is convenient. Note that the garage is not secured, but that is typical in cities. The Chrysler Museum is a short walk away. The nightlife / restaurants are a short walk down Granby Street. It is about a 15 minute walk to the harbor. The light rail transportation is nearby. The room was nice. We were upgraded to a two room suite which was great. On areas for improvement: There should be wall hooks for jackets / hats to the right of the door. There is a need for luggage holders. We had to put ours on the kitchen table. One of the two elevators was broken. When trying to check out in the morning, the one elevator was full every time it stopped at the 4th floor. It took a while to get the luggage cart into a car. The light rail was LOUD in our room until late at night. We faced W. York Street, which should have been quieter than Brambleton.
GGuest UserThe room was large so we were able to spread out however, there were only 3 small drawers to put our stuff in. They could put a taller/wider dresser with more drawers in for more storage options. There was a shelf over the sink in the bathroom so we had extra storage in there which was great. There was only one hook for all of our towels, not convenient when trying to dry multiple towels. Water pressure was great. Some of the staff was really nice, some seemed like we were bothering them. Breakfast staff was amazing and helpful. Breakfast was ok at best. We had to use the business center and there was a roach on the wall. I told the front desk and they didn't seem concerned about it.
GGuest UserYou guys deducted $50.00 twice so $100.00 is missing from my card and Amanda the manager has not called me back yet. You had a total of 5 calls from me today! And I left a detailed message. I need my money back on my card like yesterday! Other than that it's a great property.
The Econo Lodge in Little Creek is by far one of the cleanest, most comfortable hotels in the area! My husband and I travel to the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area about once a month for work. This is def my favorite place to stay! Bed/sheets were super clean & fresh, floors were spotless, and bathroom was perfect! These rooms are very spacious and homey feeling. The staff is extra friendly and helpful and the location is peaceful. They serve a nice little breakfast in the Lobby but if you want something different, there’s a Starbucks (def a necessity lol), a Bar n Grill, and many other food/necessities within walking distance. The front parking lot is a little small but there is lots of extra parking in the back which is helpful if needed. It’s a very short drive to the beach!! You could even walk it if you don’t mind walking about a 1/2 mile but it’s like a 2 min drive and parking is free. The Cova Brewing Co and Beach park are close by! Now for my favorite part THE BEACH!!! The Chesapeake Bay beach area (beach park) by this hotel is one of the most beautiful in the area. We enjoy it more than Virginia Beach! There are beautiful rocks lined down the middle and little waves so you can relax and enjoy your time in the water. It’s not overcrowded like Virginia Beach and everyone is very friendly. Out of all the times we’ve visited this area, my husband and I both agree WE HAVE THE BEST TIME when we stay at The Econo Lodge Little Creek!
I come to this hotel often. And it NEVER disappoints. The staff is helpful and friendly. The hotel is very clean. One of the biggest reasons we continue to visit this location is Debra Berry!!!. I can't say enough wonderful things about her. Attention to detail (she remembered I use extra sheets, they were in the room waiting), kindness, and over all a big heart. I feel safe at this hotel. Even when I had an unfortunate medical event, she checked on me because she knew I was there alone with my nephew. I hold her as part of our Norfolk family. Debra needs a raise!!!. Thank you Wyndham and Mrs Debra *especially *. She truly is special. Hold on to her, and never let go.
GGuest UserAll of the staff are very helpful. If you need something they will do everything in their power to get it for you or will direct you to where you can get it. And it's an ease to reserve your room online and stay in the same room that you're in if you should add extra days.
