Monomita Residency(Monomita Hotels)

The honestay offered unparalleled hospitality. The view from the room was absolutely breath taking. The property caretaker Praveen was very helpful and was always available when we needed him. Overall the stay was excellent and I would suggest the place to anyone and everyone coming to Lachen.

It's one of the best places we stayed in North Sikkim. They are extremely well mannered and their service is very heart warming. Praveen and tushar were very attentive and helpful, they took care of all our requirements. I highly recommend it.

We had a good stay at monomita residency. The staff were polite and friendly. The room was clean and hygienic. Food was good too. Room service was attended to instantly. The view from the hotel in early morning was amazing. Overall it was a pretty good stay.

We stayed at this hotel on 24th april and booked by direct calling. the location is on upper part of Lachen and provides amaging breathtaking view of nearby mountains from both rooms and outside the hotel. Rooms were very decent in size and neat and clean.washroom was also big and all amentities were available. And Finally Humble and polite behaviour of all the staffs amazed us.room sevice was excellent and provides hot water,tea at room.Food was served hot and like homemade food😍. Thanks to the owner,manager and staffs Pravin,Tushar,Sukumar and Amar.

As I was traveling with family consisting of young kids, I was worried to book the accomodation at Lachen. I've been there before and I knew it's gonna be very very long night as temperatures stay very low. I requested my agent to book me a good room and he got me this. Charged me 5000 rs for one night with food for all( 2 adult plus 2 young kids). Sounded ok. But little I knew what was waiting. From the moment I stepped into the hotel the whole negativity started. Worst Chai served in this disposable cups was the first horror. Then veg dinner. The kitchen guys was serving as if it was a jail and they don't wanted us to eat anything. By the half time one guy had already started cleaning the place and he wanted us to leave the hall. No hot water was served in evening or in the morning. To visit Gurdongmar we had to leave early. There were two options. One maggi second bread jam . As maggi can't be packed we took bread. 4 slices of jam bread 😔. Then on return lunch same condition. They made us wait for 45 min for lunch wasting our precious rest time. The only time the kitchen guy spoke good was when he put the luggage and wanted a tip. I ignored him a good time. Worst experience ever. My sincere advice plz avoid this place. 😡

We ended up booking Monomita Residency after struggling with finding a good hotel in Lachen. Reviews for most other hotels in Lachen were mixed - Monomita had quite good reviews on Google which we relied upon, and the reviews turned out accurate. For Lachen, rooms are decently furnished, bathroom was spic and span, and food was homely yet amazing. The staff truly cared about making our stay comfortable - in particular the Manager, Pravin. Electricity seems to be a significant issue in Lachen. The hotel did not have adequate backup when we stayed but we are told they are getting it resolved. Budget friendly hotel and certainly great value for money. Lachen is a distant town where everything needs to be brought from Gangtok - keep your expectations reasonable and you will enjoy your stay.
