Ghost Mountain Inn

What a delightful stay at The Ghost Mountain Inn. After 2 nights I really didn't want to leave. I noticed they had put the Australian flag out for us on their poles out the front of the property. I asked about this and it was no accident - this level of attention to detail was such a nice touch. We were welcomed back from each trip with hot face washers. On arrival we received welcome drinks of juice served in champagne flutes. The dining was outstanding. The dinner buffet had an epic spread of salads, vegetables, curries, pasta and a meat carvery with the meat changing each night. Our breakfast boxes for the game drive were nicely prepared based on our preferences. The buffet breakfast was plentiful and the egg station attendant made me an omelette with the lot that could have fed a small family! The cafe/bar light lunch options were very reasonably priced. Only R42 for a bottle of cider. There is a small gift shop on site, selling souvenirs and ice creams and cold drinks. The rooms were large, great wifi, hot water and air con. Comfortable bed. I wanted to call out two staff members in particular for their excellent service. Rohisha at the front desk who helped organise last minute tours for members of our group and helped me out with a number of requests. Sabelo who took us to the Zulu homestead, mixed us perfect gin and tonics with a view of the dam and took us for our game drive at Mkuze Reserve. He had an excellent knowledge of the animals especially in identifying the birds. There is also a boardwalk that leads to a pontoon on the lake which is excellent for bird watching at dawn and dusk. Pools are not heated so a bit nippy at this time of year. I loved the interior decoration of all the common areas. I cannot fault this place.

Ghost mountain Inn was an awesome experience. The rooms were very comfy and clean. The restaurant and bar were great. The staff were outstanding. The venue itself is picture perfect.

Warm, friendly, staff caring and food more than excellent! We are a group of Swedes and Norwegians and we LOVE the place. Excursions very nice. Garden and pools wonderful. Forgot to mention the spa! Highly recommended! Lots of love to Jean and her lovely staff❤️❤️❤️

We spent four nights at GMI as part of our wedding anniversary celebrations touring South Africa. The hotel was pretty much empty, and Bea treated us to a room upgrade. We absolutely loved our suite. We ate à la carte on three nights and buffet from the braai one night. As occupancy was low, we ate in the smaller dining area. Breakfast and dinner was very good, with lots of choice. Jean ensured that all of our days were filled with activities and excursions. We had coffee together each morning where we organised our day. She is such a lovely lady. Our driver/guide was Patrick and he looked after us for two days. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. We also spent a wonderful morning under the care of Nompilo in the spa. 5 star for location, ambiance, room, food and service. Very comfortable and clean beds. Spacious bathroom, beautiful garden. Stunning lake.
