Holiday Inn Norwich

I would not recommend anyone to stay at the holiday inn Norwich.

Big rooms, but outdated, not much tv channels.Very loud noise from next door.

I honestly can’t believe all the negative reviews for this hotel. I stayed last night for 1 night so I could go to the Ringo Starr concert and it was fine. Overall I was quite pleased. My king bed was extremely comfortable. The room was clean and spacious but the bathroom was small. All of the staff I encountered were very pleasant. The shuttle to Mohegan Sun was very helpful and reliable. I was disappointed that the pool area did not seem kept up. There were no towels and I had to go to the front desk to request them. They were 2 tiny, thin towels. There was trash on the tables in the pool area. However, the pool was pleasant and I had a nice swim. I did eat breakfast in the dining room. I had french toast which was passable but not exciting. The staff there were pleasant. Overall, for the price, the Holiday Inn got the job done. I would stay again. It is not fancy but it is far from the worst hotel I’ve stayed at. The other hotels in the area were crazy expensive because it was a Friday night near the ****** but the Holiday Inn was reasonable in comparison.

Hotel not as advertised. Hotel not up to Hilton or Hampton standards; I guess Holiday Inn has much lower standards. Mold, damp, cigarette smell, musky, humidifiers running in room, unsafe electrical set and cable management in room, broken items in room, old artifacts (ie wall thermostats that looked like they had burned up) still in room, tub water running and enamel worn off and shipped off, dark parking lot, bar music heard from 5th floor at 10:30 pm, rude staff, unclean bed sheets/bed spread, expired elevator certificates, the outside is completely off putting like a mental institute or old government office building, elevator light for floor indicator broken on both, completely outdated - no USB ports even, curtains that are brown and don’t close, and the absolute worse vibes of being unsafe ever - pretty sure there are cameras in the room, just not around for the safety of the guests. This was the worse hotel I’ve stayed in recent memory and that includes hotels in Baltimore, DC, NYC, and small no-name towns. The advertisement photos are misleading and I was not able to get my money back though we did not stay, I should have looked at other reviews and realized the documented struggle with same. The feeling of being watched was so strong that even after I swept the hotel room with my phone, I’m pretty sure there were cameras. Absolutely not. This hotel should probably be condemned or at least visited by the health department and the fired department for safety; the detector in the room looked outdated (over 10 years old) and the sprinkler looked to have been dislodged at some point. There was a single old outlet ***** with a humidifier, microwave, coffee pot, and refrigerator plugged into it. There were cords strung across the floor. It was disturbing to see blatant violations that I would not expect a hotel brand to own alongside the general neglect and staff conduct/poor attitude, condescension and laughter when asked if there’s a non-expired certificate of safety for their janky elevator.

We had a great stay at this hotel. We were there for a baseball tournament and the boys had a great time. We loved the sports bar and breakfast restaurant on site. Sharon is the best! The only downfall was that kids weren't allowed in the restaurant after 8:00.

Lindsay is a superstar and went out of her way to ensure every guest had a positive experience. She was especially helpful with the Wi-Fi set-up. The room was spacious, and the beds were, oh so comfortable with plenty of fluffy pillows. Staff throughout the facility were polite, knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommend this as a must stay in Norwich, CT!

Stayed Saturday night. Discount hotel in need of an update. Check-out is 11 but restaurant closes at 11 so if you wait till 11 to check out there’s no breakfast/brunch. Dumb dumb dumb. Everyone checks out and eats elsewhere. I asked front desk manager why restaurant doesn’t stay open till noon to capture all the people checking out. She didn’t care.

I parked in the closest spot to the hotel entrance and still got broken into. Multiple cars in the lot were smashed. Hotel didn't offer any compensation. No security cameras. Hotel staff not aware that this was happening??? You can see the hotel lobby, from the parking spot. Hotel floors were sticky, rooms are dated. Bathroom was tiny. Will never stay here again.

Booked my trip 3 months in advance, only for them to realize a concert was happening that night and when I arrived the hotel had a pipe burst? But they were fully booked and cancelled my reservation. Scam!!!!! Will never stay again- worst service ever.
