Hampton Inn by Hilton Norwich

From booking our weekend back in April with Michele, to checking out just his morning, again with dynamic Michele, our experience with Hampton Inn, Norwich, CT was a genuine delight! Guy & I were welcomed and checked in Friday by the incomparable Jay (shout out, my friend!), who could not have been more pleasant/helpful during our two day stay. We were helped with dinner suggestions and directions by Kiana, and as a result, enjoyed a lovely couple of hours shopping and dining; thank you, for printing out your area's list of restaurants, and your positive, happy demeanor, Kiana! 🤗 Hampton Inn's courtesy breakfast was hot, fresh and wonderful both mornings, and Milton--WOW--was non stop with neatening, cleaning, replacing hot foods, pastries, etc.; again, outstanding service, and with a constant smile, like all Hampton Inn staff! Jay...what can I say? You went above and beyond with kindness and care, an all around sheer delight! Remember to look for me on the internet 😮 😬 Michele, we thank you again for making check out quick and painless, and for your most pleasant demeanor--you are dream; your staff is a dream. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. By the way, our room was lovely, clean and most comfortable. New. Nice room. Good breakfast. I think people come here for the Mohegan Sun ******. They have a free shuttle to take you to the ****** on Friday and Saturday night. I was surprised at the road noise, but it is right next to the highway. My friends on the side that faced the cemetery had a much quieter room as you can imagine.

Smells terrible throughout the halls and in the room. Air is thick with something. Pest control spray? Carpet treatment? There is no air circulation. We switched rooms. The second room smelled like sewage. Maybe that’s what they are trying to treat with whatever the overwhelming other smell is. This is not your typical Hampton inn experience. We are usually very pleased with the consistency of the Hampton inn. This one needs to be rebuilt. Will definitely book anywhere else in the future.

Walked into the room and it had a musty smell - not bad enough to do anything about it but it was definitely there. The room was fine, but we got charged after for the complimentary water bottles $12. (Was told by the front desk before I was hung up on that it says they are $3 a bottle). We came for the pool, which was highly disappointing because it was full of long hair throughout the whole thing. Very gross. The hot tub had the same issue - they need people with long hair to put their hair up when going in the pool. Definitely wouldn't stay here again.

This hotel is infested with ants. My family and I travel roughly about once a month for business, travel soccer or to vacation. We have never experienced anything like this before! We grabbed a pizza before heading to the hotel for dinner. Of course you can’t put a whole pizza in the min hotel fridge therefore we set on the desk while we went to swim. We were at the pool for less than an hour. When we returned to our room the whole desk was covered with ants. I could not believe my eyes. I opened the pizza box and there were even more ants. The hotel did move our room and provide us with food from the bar. However, there’s no way they didn’t know they had an ant infestation before our stay. The manager response was “There was food left out which caused ants to come to your room.” Lady, where did you expect us to put a whole pizza? Furthermore, guests should be able to leave food out without being taken over by ants!” Convincing my daughter that they did. It have bed bugs after this even was very challenging. Needless to say bedtime was a hassle! So glad we so my stayed one night! If it was earlier in the day and not 9pm at night we would have for sure left!

One night stay after an event at Mohegan Sun, just a short drive from the ****** and right off the highway. This one one of the nicest Hampton Inn's we have stayed in. The room was clean and comfortable. Bed was comfortable and had no issues during the stay. Wi-fi worked well. Took advantage of the complimentary breakfast in the morning. Checked in and out on the Hilton app. Nice pool and hot tub, although we did not use it. Staff was friendly and welcoming.

The hotel and staff, Michelle at the front desk was superb. Unfortunately was not able to get the gentleman’s name at the lounge, but he offered great service as well! The room was clean and even though it was a busy weekend with a soccer event for kids was going on - the hotel was still super clean and they were still super accommodating to every guest.

Hotel was good. Rooms were great. Youth soccer team saying there at the same time. Loud and noisy at night. Hotel staff was unable or unprepared to deal with breakfast. Not all their fault. No Adult Supervision. Suggest that in the future they put teams all in one section of hotel and consider separate breakfast area for team use. Lots of hotels in area. Likely to consider others in the area

This is one of the better Hampton Inns. The location just off I-395 makes it easy to get to nearby attractions. The hotel was spotless in all respects. The customer service was excellent, and I interacted with several desk clerks. The pool area is quite large, surprising for a Hampton Inn. The hot tub was properly hot and well maintained. It seems the pool was designed for those who want to swim laps. There were no families using the pool when I was here, so I can't say how crowded or noisy it gets, but I could easily swim laps. The breakfast was average Hampton Inn fare, nothing fancy but plenty of it. It seemed there are many dining options within a short drive (I ate at my sister's so I didn't hit any of the local places). There's a WalMart and a Big Y grocery quite close as well. The only downside to this hotel is that there's no guest laundry. Odd-numbered rooms face the highway and could be noisy. I was able to get a room facing the cemetery next door so I avoided traffic noise.
