You can expect to find unparalleled natural beauty at the Best Western Annesley House Hotel in Norwich, which sits just a stroll away from the historic city center. The hotel is located in a tree-lined conservation area just outside Norwich’s ancient city walls, with plenty to do nearby. We recommend dedicating some time to the ‘Norwich 12’, during your stay at the Annesley House. These 12 iconic heritage buildings span across 2000 years of history, and are well worth some appreciation. Norwich Castle, Norwich Cathedral, the City Hall and the St James Mill are among some of the 12 gems, and all less than a 10 minute drive from the hotel. You can pick up a Norwich 12 guidebook from most tourist information points to really delve into the rich history of this beautiful city. For some scenic walks, The Norfolk Broads - Britains newest National Park – is right on your doorstep when staying at the Annesley House Hotel, and offers many breath-taking rivers and lakes to admire. If you still have some free time, the pretty coastal villages of Cley, Wells-next-the-Sea and Happisburgh (check out the little lighthouse) are only a short drive away. The hotel itself is made up of three Grade II listed Georgian buildings, with blooming flowers and shrubbery decorating each. Our award-winning Conservatory restaurant enjoys views over the water garden, with menus changing frequently, but standards remaining exceptionally high. The Conservatory restaurant offers both a fine-dining and lighter bites menu, whilst the Lounge bar offers an array of delicious nightcaps to end your evening in comfort. The hotel has been awarded the coveted AA Silver Star Award, given to only a select few highly recommended hotels. These hotels must offer a superior level of quality, with regards to hospitality, service and cleanliness, as well as possessing an AA Rosette award for the quality of their food.Show More

For a hotel in a small place, we can't expect too much. The breakfast is relatively good.

This was our first visit to Norwich for a long time and we are very pleased we found Annesley House. We would certainly stay again. Our accommodation was spacious and comfortable. The staff provided both a great welcome and excellent customer service. We ate in as the breakfast and evening meal menus are extensive. Despite the hotel's proximity to the city centre the site and especially the enclosed garden beyond the dining conservatory give a peaceful haven.

For my first visit my company chose this hotel as very handy for Norwich centre and I keep coming back since then. Once again I was not disappointed. My room was spacious and very clean. The bed was comfortable. It's cosy hotel with great service and friendly staff. I will be definitely staying there again!

My husband, my son, and I stayed there for one night at the end of May, to attend a wedding in Norwich. It was reasonably priced, and on the whole the quality was excellent. The staff were pleasant and friendly: for example, when the receptionist saw me arrive with a walking stick, he immediately moved us to a ground floor room, which I thought was very thoughtful. Our room was really huge, and with good facilities; and my son's single room was still a good size, with a proper bath, not just a shower. We really enjoyed our breakfast, which was served pleasantly in the attractive, conservatory-style restaurant. I have two criticisms, that are: when I searched for "breakfast included" this hotel came up, but breakfast is not included, though I did enquire at the time of booking, whether they did. I only got a reply a few days before we arrived, and there wasn't anywhere really close by to have breakfast, so we were obliged to have it there. We therefore ended up paying £13.95 a head (if I remember correctly), which obviously added quite a lot to the total bill. The other criticism is that for a lovely, old building, some of the decor was a bit strange and inappropriate. They seemed to have quite a lot of odd, very modern, and slightly tacky-looking wall sculptures and vases, which seemed very out of keeping. However, we would probably stay there again, if we ever go back to Norwich.

Nice hotel. Good atmosphere, well run and maintained. Handy for Norwich centre. Plenty of parking. Comfortable bar and lounge. Excellent breakfasts. Better menu choices and dinners can be had walking the 15 minutes into Norwich centre in the evenings. We would stay there again

For our first visit to Norwich we chose this hotel (the Best Western chain is our preferred choice). Once again we were not disappointed; situated in a very idyllic part of Norwich, and only a 10-minute walk from the City Centre. Our room was spacious, very clean, and bright. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was well equipped with toiletries and towels. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly. The dining area (a conservatory) was pleasant and welcoming. Breakfast was plentiful and very well presented, but we would have liked perhaps a small buffet table with a selection of cheeses, hams, etc. We would definitely recommend this to anyone and look forward to returning!
