My husband, my son, and I stayed there for one night at the end of May, to attend a wedding in Norwich. It was reasonably priced, and on the whole the quality was excellent. The staff were pleasant and friendly: for example, when the receptionist saw me arrive with a walking stick, he immediately moved us to a ground floor room, which I thought was very thoughtful. Our room was really huge, and with good facilities; and my son's single room was still a good size, with a proper bath, not just a shower. We really enjoyed our breakfast, which was served pleasantly in the attractive, conservatory-style restaurant. I have two criticisms, that are: when I searched for "breakfast included" this hotel came up, but breakfast is not included, though I did enquire at the time of booking, whether they did. I only got a reply a few days before we arrived, and there wasn't anywhere really close by to have breakfast, so we were obliged to have it there. We therefore ended up paying £13.95 a head (if I remember correctly), which obviously added quite a lot to the total bill. The other criticism is that for a lovely, old building, some of the decor was a bit strange and inappropriate. They seemed to have quite a lot of odd, very modern, and slightly tacky-looking wall sculptures and vases, which seemed very out of keeping. However, we would probably stay there again, if we ever go back to Norwich.
