Felbrigg Lodge Bed and Breakfast

Booked in May, B&B one night, Dinner B&B 2nd night – table confirmed for Dinner for 7pm. Having advised we would arrive 4 / 4.30pm, arriving at 4pm we waited 45 minutes before someone came to reception to greet us. We’d rung the bell several times, and telephoned, but no response. Whilst we were waiting, 2 other couples arrived, and stood waiting with us. The greeting at reception was ‘who was first!’. We felt that we were frog marched to our accommodation (Willow Suite @ £225/night), and quickly pointed towards an A4 sheet displaying breakfast, and advised to tick what we would like, pop time and room name on the top, leave on reception desk and it would be delivered to our room next morning – both my husband and I clearly heard this instruction. We were meeting friends early that evening, West Runton, so briskly sought the whereabouts of the pool (agree with other comments on Tripadvisor that it didn’t smell too pleasant), and quickly used the toilet in the room before heading out. The toilet was dirty. Wee wee stains. Yuk. Should we have left then – yes. 45 minutes to check in, not a pleasant welcome, a dirty toilet. My husband & I have both worked in hospitality, and we understand that sometimes behind the scenes things don’t go to plan. That evening, showing our friends the Lodge webpage, we read that the restaurant was closed, but we had booked a 7pm dinner reservation for the following evening. We telephoned the lodge to double check the webpage info, and yes, no restaurant. So what were we going to do for our 25th Wedding anniversary meal! Disappointed. The Lodge owners did tell us that they had telephoned everyone to advise the restaurant was no longer available. I’ve checked my phone log and emails, and nothing from Felbrigg Lodge hotel. Back at the accommodation later that evening, on closer inspection, the fridge had mould in it, the place was dusty, dated décor, shabby, for £225/night would have expected a better selection of toiletries, shower screen & bathroom mirror covered in water stains (we found out why later), no towelling slippers, but we weren’t risking the hot tub anyway after seeing the rest of the uncleanliness. We’d already decided to check out the following morning. Dissatisfied. We’d ordered breakfast for the next day for 8am, ticked the A4 sheet of what we’d like, so proceeded to get ready to leave, and shower. Whilst my husband was showering, we then learnt why the bathroom mirror was covered in water stains. The shower spurted water from the side of the shower head, over the top of the shower screen, covering the electric lit mirror, and all over me standing at the basin. I had to change clothes. 8am we awaited our breakfast. 8.15, 8.20 still waiting. We saw a breakfast tray being delivered to another lodge. Maybe this place worked on being 45 minutes late with everything, as we’d waited 45 mins to get checked in. 8.45 still no breakfast, so I telephoned and was sharply told that our breakfast was wai

Perfect relaxing getaway. Clean, friendly, lovely surroundings

Motorbike tour Norfolk - arrived in a storm and the gentleman showed us to our room and gave us access the a dry room for kit - we were soaked !! Room was lovely and very very comfortable!!!! Clean and spacious The only downside was the bathroom was above the boiler room and the bathroom had a strong smell of oil fumes - kept windows open and bathroom closed which helped Booked a private swimming session which was lovely The grounds are beautiful and well kept Riding the motorbikes into the grounds was not a problem , the drive has gravel but slow and steady we went so no problem Lots of parking - I would say it is motorbike friendly just move a patch of gravel to put the stand down

We recently spent a two day break here to celebrate our birthdays and stayed in the Bramble suite, which was well equipped and comfortable. As part of the birthday package, breakfast was served in our room and we both agreed that it was one of the best full English breakfasts we have ever had! The excellent evening meal was served in the restaurant, although this is no longer available as the restaurant has now been closed. The staff and owners were very attentive, nothing was too much trouble. My wife took advantage of the spa and thoroughly enjoyed her pampering sessions with Sarah. All in all, we had a very pleasant stay.

Loved this place - location away from it all, facilities (hot tub, sauna, pool) were clean, well maintained and great to have use of. Spa onsite well worth booking, Sarah is lovely and very good. Our room was spacious, had additional seating and a fridge, big bonus for wine and milk! One of the best breakfasts we have had and good value as lots of choice. Cant recommend enough - will be back

We had a lovely 1 night stay here, the room, the food the pool and the location was amazing! Not to mention the private hot tub and garden outside the room! Only a short walk from felbrigg hall also which we thoroughly enjoyed aswell! We will definitely be back!

What an amazing place. Beautiful spacious room with private garden and private hot tub. Lovely swimming pool which you can book to have to yourself if you want to .Evening meal and breakfast was delicious. Would highly recommend. Will definitely return.

A piece of Indulgent luxury.. We stayed in a Comfortable cottage, within the grounds The Food is good with ample portions The Staff are attentive, polite, helpful and friendly The grounds are peaceful and brimming with nature I really have encapuslated my report in just over 200 words

We've been here a few times now just to use the swimming pool, no issues with the actual pool as such, it looks a bit cloudy but what lets it down most is the awful smell in the changing area. First we thought someone may have left behind a dirty nappy but it's smelt the same every time. The place would really benefit from having some sort of playpen for babies and a changing mat, its not ideal having to change them on the floor and to make it a little easier for parents to get changed having somewhere to contain them rather than them crawling around in the wet or trying to get back to the pool. Probably won't be returning due to it smelling bad every time which is a shame as it could be a really nice place.
