Olas Verdes Hotel

Can’t say enough great things about this hotel and its staff. Every staff member from the front desk helping us organize our restaurant reservations and rides to the wait staff, were fantastic and overly kind. Big shout out to our amigo Dixon, the bartender, who really made us feel at home. Not only is he a wizard behind the bar, but we looked forward to going to bar every night because he is the man. He was so kind and helped my Canadian family watch our beloved hockey games we otherwise would not have not been able to watch. Joss and Juliana were the best servers we could ask for. They were very personable and made every meal at the hotel a great one. Thank you again to Olas Verdes for such a great experience, the perfect place to relax, and be within meters of the beach to surf. Pura vida!

There is a warmth to this place. From the warm tones of wood which are found in every room to the warm smiles of the staff, this place welcomes you from the first minute of your stay to the second you leave. You are made to feel like family. The surf school is first class as are the optional tours. The beach is beautiful and the waves are amazing.

Spacious family suites and accessible beach Our family of three stayed for four nights in the family suite bedroom with double bed and twin bed and separate living room space. Quarters were clean and roomy, AC unit was quiet and effective but only for the bedroom portion. The living room space didn’t have AC but in June wasn’t really necessary and with open windows and a fan it was enough. The noise from the bar and pool were loud from our living room space but the bedroom was very quiet. We had a big red ant problem on arrival, after squashing 50 of them I messaged the hotel for help and they sent someone around to spay and they did more treatments the next day while we were out. The hotel is a three minute walk to the beach through a damp cut jungle path and if you don’t move fast the mosquitoes will find you. The pool was nice and the convenience of surf lessons, board, and boogie board rentals were good. If you’re lucky you’ll get to observe capuchin monkeys play from your window and definitely get to listen to the howler monkeys often. The breakfasts and restaurant were just ok and a bit slow. I’d recommend walking over to Al Chilie for much better food as often as possible. The hotel staff tries extra hard to be congenial and provide the best customer service. This hotel is not within close walking distance to any town setting but the beach is right there and so beautiful.

Hidden Gem Family vacation mid-January. Hotel is beautiful and staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel is about as close to the beach as you can get in Nosara. Walk right out of the hotel to the footpath to the beach. The restaurant was excellent. Safari Surf School is right there. Definitely recommend.

One of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. Upon booking they ensure that all your needs are met prior to arriving, shuttles are coordinated, they even assisted us with canceled flights within costa Rica, they went above and beyond what I was expecting! I can't thank the staff enough for all their help. The rooms are warm and welcoming and the hotel food was delicious! I will be recommending this hotel to all my friends and family. The staff really make you feel at home and do everything they can to make your stay better. The location is perfect for people who want a more private feeling hotel however it's just a short walk or bike ride to some of the main shops and restaurants. It's also just a short jungle walk to the beach. I will definitely be coming back!
