I reserved a room for fall 2024 (September) with the IHG app since we might visit family in the area. In June, we learned that we are unable to travel to MI. I tried to cancel the reservation but for some reason, the reservation is non-refundable, even though the travel dates are over 2 months away. I must have clicked the wrong button in the app. Now the management is refusing to cancel the reservation without a $500+ cancellation fee, even though our plans have changed. This seems so unfair when they hotel has over 2 months notice. I am a IHG rewards member and have previously enjoyed other properties, but this seems unreasonable.
