The hotel is very good, comfortable, the amenities are superior to what was expected. Only when we arrived the reception was under maintenance, looking bad and unsafe. There are few options to eat in the area and the surroundings do not look friendly either, but the hotel is very comfortable and the staff is friendly. Quite excessive prices.

I honestly wish we could have stayed here longer!
From the outside, this place is very unassuming. The area around it has mostly older buildings. But once you pull into the gates, it's clear why this is a highly rated hotel. Complete with welcome drinks, a luxurious pool, and a very attentive staff, this hotel was the perfect oasis before a rugged stay in the Amazon.
There are quite a few dining options in Lago Agrio, but you could also relax and enjoy the on-site restaurant. The room was probably the nicest we had during our 3-week vacation. I would recommend it in a heartbeat.

The breakfast buffet was very rich. But I have a complaint regarding cleanliness in common areas such as the pool and gym. They were very neglected and there were bugs on the floor everywhere. In addition, the HK service was very invasive in the rooms because they came to clean even when we were at our breakfast time, I suggest that the cleaning be done once the guest leaves the hotel to do their business. But it was nice to see all the birds there were!

We stayed in Gran Hotel de Lago - Lago Agrio one night before traveling to Cuyabeno. We were pleased with the staff, rooms and amazing gardens. The pool is super large and the food delicious. They are following all COVID protocols, but one member of the staff told me everyone is already vaccinated which made us feel even more comfortable. Will definitely come back!
